International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis — Science Communication Fellowship 2020

IIASA is an international scientific institute that conducts research into the critical issues of global environmental, economic, technological, and social change. The International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA) accepts applications for its summer 2020 Science Communication Fellowship. The science communication fellow will gain experience in communicating complex systems science for a general audience through a variety of platforms. Program areas include energy, ecology, water, greenhouse gases, risk and resilience, among others.The stipend is €4 thousand for three months. The application deadline is 11 January 2020. Link

ETH Zurich — Seed Grants for Swiss-Asian Research Collaboration 2019

In partnership with Switzerland’s State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SERI), ETH Zurich promotes scientific cooperation with key institutions in the Asia-Pacific region. ETH Zurich currently calls for proposals from Swiss researchers with partners in China (incl. Hong Kong and Taiwan), Japan, South Korea, and the ASEAN region. The call is open for activities in all scientific disciplines and fields of research. The maximum grant is CHF 25 thousand for projects of up to 12 months. European Commission — European Development Fund for APC countries

The European Commission invites applications for the European Development Fund with the aim to create, develop and diffuse knowledge, technologies and innovations as powerful drivers of inclusive and sustainable socio-economic development in African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) countries. Under this call, the EU seeks to support research, science, technology, and innovation proposals with focus on sustainable development and poverty reduction. The overall goal is to create an inclusive environment for Research and Innovation in ACP countries. Any grant requested under this call for proposals must fall between €4 million and €4.2 million. Non-profit organizations from Sub-Saharan Africa, the Caribbean, and the Pacific region are eligible to apply. Deadline for submission of concept note and full application is 29 January 2020. Denmark Ministry of Foreign Affairs — Mobility Grants for Research with Danish Partners

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Denmark provides grants for development research as part of Denmark’s international development cooperation. The MFA invites applications for individual Danida Mobility Grants to facilitate research stays in Denmark by researchers from the following countries: Bangladesh, Brazil, China, Colombia, Ghana, India, Indonesia, Iran, Kenya, Mexico, Myanmar, South Africa, Turkey, or Vietnam.
