African Institute for Mathematical Sciences — Small Research Grants in Climate Change Science

The African Institute for Mathematical Sciences Next Einstein Initiative (AIMS) invites early-career academics from Africa to apply for the AIMS Small Research Grants in Climate Change Science. AIMS will support community-driven projects that are at the upper limit of the research-innovation value chain. British Council — International Research Workshops: Sustainable Energy and Climate Change in Russia

The British Council supports research workshops under the programs Researcher Links and the Newton Fund to assist early-career researchers from the UK and Russia to interact and explore research collaborations. The workshop ‘Sustainable Energy and Climate Change in Russia: policies, discourses and narratives’ will provide an opportunity for sharing research expertise and networking. During the workshop, Early Career Researchers will have the opportunity to present their research. Association for the Promotion of Sciences in Africa — Technologies and Innovations for Sustainable Development

APSA calls for prototypes providing a solution for sustainable development and environmental problems in the form of Clean Energy Production, Up/Down/Re-Cycling, Water Treatment, etc. This challenge is aimed at young scientists and entrepreneurs from Africa. United States Agency for International Development — Protecting Amazonia

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) seeks applications for a cooperative agreement under the SERVIR Amazonia program. The program aims to help developing nations achieve more sustainable economic growth and improve environmental management, including addressing the impacts of climate change. USAID intends to provide from US$8.0 to US$9.0 million in total funding over a five-year period. Eligibility extends to established U.S. and non-U.S. organizations. Integrated Research on Disaster Risk — Training Workshop: Big Data for Disaster Risk Reduction

The IRDR seeks to strengthen science capacities for sustainable development and disaster risk reduction. The International Training Workshop on Big Earth Data for Disaster Risk Reduction in Beijing (China) will provide a scientific and practical guide on disaster risk reduction to participants from developing countries. Selected applicants will be provided round-trip international airfares, and the local expenses such as board and lodging, field tour, local transportation, etc. during the workshop. This regional programme is designed to discover innovators and strengthen new innovations from Southeast Asia. Categories are early-stage innovations (proposals, ideas, concepts and prototypes) and scale-stage innovation (proven social innovations with the potential and capacity to increase impact). Initiatives by participant teams have ranged from waste management, agriculture, and environment, among others. Columbus Zoo and Aquarium — Conservation Grants 2018

The Columbus Zoo makes conservation grants for research, local community involvement, capacity building, environmental education, and behavior change leading to improved conservation of wildlife and habitat. Grant requests may range from US$1 thousand to US$25 thousand, but grants are limited to US$5 thousand for first-time applicants. First-time applicants must submit a pre-proposal.
