New America — Learning Sciences Exchange
The Learning Sciences Exchange (LSX) is a two-year fellowship for mid-career professionals in Europe, North America, Latin America, and Africa. The program’s goal is a better application of the insights emerging from the science of learning for children ages 2 to 12. LSX Fellows will work in teams to develop cross-sector projects that activate change in schools and other learning settings. Eligibility for the fellowship program extends to researchers, journalists, education leaders, entrepreneurs, and entertainment producers with a focus on the science of learning. Logan Nonfiction Program — Workshop for Environmental Filmmakers and Journalists
The Logan Nonfiction Program invites applications from writers, documentary filmmakers, photographers, and multimedia producers from all around the world to participate in a 10-week workshop at the Carey Institute for Global Good. The fellowship combines virtual and in-person programming in two classes per year of 10-12 fellows per class. Applications are accepted from professional journalists and filmmakers working on topics representing socially relevant political, health, environmental, human rights, and justice topics. University of Bergen — PhD Courses on Sustainable Development
The Bergen Summer Research School offers parallel short courses for PhD students and young researchers on themes of urgent societal problems focusing on the transition to sustainability. The courses will focus on key global challenges, including socio-economic inequality, psychological and social science perspectives on climate change, and the sustainable development of life below water. Stipends to participate in the course are available for qualified individuals who are currently enrolled for studies and carrying out research in a list of eligible developing countries. Young Water Solutions — Young Water Fellowship Program: Uganda
Young Water Solutions supports young entrepreneurs to launch their water and sanitation related social businesses. The Young Water Fellowship provides training, seed-funding and mentorship. The workshop aims to empower its participants to implement projects addressing water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH), water pollution, and water scarcity. All training costs (flights, transportation, accommodation, meals) are covered by the organization. To be eligible, applicants must be 18 to 30 years old, intend to stay in Uganda for at least 1.5 years after the training and spend at least 15 hours per week to work on their social business. World Forestry Congress – Call for Registration 2022
The XV World Forestry Congress will be held in Seoul (South Korea) from 02-06 May 2022. The congress provides the unique opportunity for the global forestry community to consider the state and future of world forestry, particularly in the context of the recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic. Participants come from all over the world and from all sectors, for example, public and private sector, NGOs, CSOs, scientific or professional bodies, and forestry societies, as well as individuals interested in forests and the environment. WFC 2022 supports participation from low-income countries by providing financial assistance to those who would otherwise be unable to participate due to financial constraints. Nanotech Futuristic Solutions and WIOMSA announce a workshop on Nanotechnology and Its Applications for Sustainable Cities and Coasts, that will take place in Johannesburg South Africa (November/December 2021). The workshop will equip professionals and practitioners with fundamental tools of nanoscience and will make them better prepared in implementing nanotechnology in marine science, city planning, science policy advocacy and renewable energy systems. Climate Tracker — COP26 Journalism Fellowship (in-person)
Climate Tracker plans to support a small team of 5 in-person journalists to report from inside the UN Climate Talks this October & November. Climate Tracker seeks young, but experienced reporters based in Europe or the UK, but come from a developing country background, and can speak and write in a non-English language.
