International RiverFoundation — Fellowship for Women in Water Management

The International RiverFoundation invites applications for the Vera Thiess Fellowship for Women. Women from developing countries get the opportunity to gain valuable work experience through the IRF and its partners, with the goal of advancing women’s participation in water and river management. The Foundation offers a 3 to 6 months fellowship consisting of project work, funding for travel and participation in the International Riversymposium (Australia). UK Natural Environment Research Council — Towards a Sustainable Earth

The UK Natural Environment Research Council and funding partners invite proposals for the Towards a Sustainable Earth (TaSE) initiative, which aims to improve our understanding of the complex interactions between people and the environment required to make progress in achieving the United Nations Global Goals (Sustainable Development Goals). Applicants are invited to submit multilateral collaborative research proposals comprising eligible researchers from a minimum of three nations (Eligible funding agencies can be found in the call for proposals). Canada Fund for Local Initiatives — Grants Cycle 2018-2019: South Sudan

The Canada Fund for Local Initiatives offers short-term funding to community groups, NGOs, people’s organizations — and in exceptional cases, to international NGOs and government institutions — for small projects addressing empowerment, capacity-building, economic, environmental, and social development issues in South Sudan. Proposals should have a budget of approximately CAD 15 thousand to CAD 30 thousand for six months. The application deadline is 22 June 2018. Link

IHE Delft Institute for Water Education — Training Programme on Water Management for the Arab Region

IHE Delft, Clingendael and WaterFocus invite applications for the Shiraka (previously Matra-Zuid) training programme on Water Management from civil servants from the Arab region. The two week workshop will take place in The Hague (The Netherlands) from 20 to 31 August 2018. The Dutch government will take care of all relevant costs for participants from countries on the OECD-DAC list. The courses will be in English, with interpretation into [Arabic/ French]. Village Capital — Support for Social Entrepreneurs in Africa

Village Capital and the UK Department for International Development (DFID) Impact Programme seek applications for the VilCap Communities Africa program. The program is open to social entrepreneurs across sub-Saharan Africa who need tools, resources and connections to raise funds. To be eligible to apply, the applicant must address countrywide or regional problems, such as agriculture, environmental sustainability and others affecting those in poverty. European Commission — Social Entrepreneurship in Jordan

The European Commission calls for projects that contribute to poverty reduction and social inclusion of people confined in the informal economy and disadvantaged/marginalised groups. The design of the proposed actions should aim at generating jobs and developing competitive and social enterprises in Jordan. (Note: This may include one or more categories of the Terra Viva Grants Directory). Under this call, grants of up to 2.2 million can be requested. UK Natural Environment Research Council — Peruvian Glacial Retreat

The Natural Environment Research Council (NERC) and Consejo Nacional de Ciencia, Tecnología e Innovación Tecnológica, Perú (CONCYTEC), invite proposals for a new collaborative Research Programme on Peruvian glacial retreat and its impact on water security and resilience to natural hazards. Applicants can request up to £500 thousand for the UK component of a project and up to S/ 1.5 million for the Peruvian component. Projects can be a maximum of 34 months in duration. Asian Women In Business – Scholarship for Female Entrepreneurs

The Asian Women In Business Scholarship (AWIB) encourages and promotes exceptional Asian female students and social entrepreneurs who have demonstrated leadership, community service and/or entrepreneurship. (Note: This may include one or more categories of the Terra Viva Grants directory.) Selected entrepreneurs will receive US$ 2,500. Eligibility extends to students of Asian or Pacific Islander ancestry who are enrolled full-time in an accredited 4-year undergraduate institution in the US and have permanent residency.
