North Atlantic Treaty Organization — Science for Peace and Security

NATO’s support for research in peace and security includes aspects of environment and energy in relation to climate change, water scarcity, increasing energy needs, disaster forecasts, and prevention of natural catastrophes (among others). The SPS Program supports multi-year research projects, research workshops, and training courses. Applications are invited from researchers in NATO’s member countries and its partner countries – including several in East Europe, Eurasia, Central Asia, and the Mediterranean region. Earth Journalism Network — Mekong Video Storytelling Fellowship

The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) aims to train content producers from the Lower Mekong countries to tell impactful visual stories about natural resources governance. EJN will select 25 fellows from the Lower Mekong countries for online and in-person training. Following the training, participants will be invited to pitch video story ideas that examine the challenges in Mekong natural resource management and their impacts on local communities and natural habitats. EJN will award the best story ideas with grants of US$ 2,500 each to produce a video. The fellowship is open to applicants from Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam. Canada Fund for Local Initiatives — Community Projects in Guatemala and Belize

The Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI) invites proposals that meet the needs of local communities in Guatemala and Belize. CFLI provides funding to projects that implement environment and climate action projects focusing on adaptation and mitigation, water management, and other thematic priorities. The average contribution is C$15 thousand to C$35 thousand per project. Eligibility extends to not-for-profit local, national or community-based organizations. Together Women Rise — Empowering Women and Girls living in Extreme Poverty

Together Women Rise (formerly Dining for Women) makes grants to non-profit organizations that support women and girls living in extreme poverty in developing countries. Thematic areas include access to clean water and sanitation, food security, and education, among other themes. Together Women Rise accepts applications in the range of US$25 thousand to $35 thousand. Eligibility extends to US 5.01(c)3 corporations or international organizations with a fiscal sponsor. The grant cycle to submit letters of intent is open from 01 April to 24 April each year. International Water Association — Researcher Awards 2023

The International Water Association calls for nominations for the Ardern-Lockett Award and the IWA MEWE Early- and Mid-Career Researcher Awards. The Ardern-Lockett award recognizes outstanding contributions to research and practice in the field of Microbial Ecology and Water Engineering. The MEWE Early- and Mid-Career Award recognize accomplishments of a mid-career professional in the field of Microbial Ecology and Water Engineering. Prince Claus Fund — Cultural and Artistic responses to Environmental Change

The Prince Claus Fund and the Goethe-Institut support artistic and cultural interventions tackling pressing environmental and climate issues around the world. The Fund invites applications to its mentorship program which will focus on addressing the climate emergency. The program consists of two Labs, bi-monthly online masterclass and peer-group sessions. Each artist receives an award of €10 thousand to work on the concept for a body of work that they outline in their application. Please note that support is only given to individual persons or organizations living, registered and working in DAC-listed countries. AB InBev — Lead2030 Challenge for SDG 5 (Gender Equality)

The Young One World Lead2030 Challenge for SDG 5 seeks female leaders playing a critical role driving economic growth and providing livelihoods for their communities. The challenge welcomes solutions from innovative female founded companies that provide affordable access to renewable energy, eliminate or reduce plastic pollution, and/or improve water quality in high stressed watersheds. The winner will receive a US$100 thousand project startup grant and mentorship. The application deadline is 30 April 2023. More details

Slovak Republic — Slovak Government Scholarships 2023-2024

As part of its program of official development assistance, the Slovak Republic annually awards scholarships to support qualified international students for studies at Slovak universities. The fields of study include ecological and environmental sciences; agriculture, forestry, and veterinary medicine; water resources management; and several others. Eligible countries for scholarships are Afghanistan, Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Kenya, Kosovo, Moldova, Mongolia, Palestinian Territories, Ukraine, and Vietnam. IBM — Global Water Management Solutions

IBM launches a request for proposals to help accelerate global water management solutions for vulnerable populations. IBM will support projects that can help improve access to safe drinking water for all, improve water quality by reducing pollution, increase water-use efficiency, protect and restore water-related ecosystems, increase sanitation management, and reduce the number of people suffering from water scarcity. Nonprofit and governmental organizations are eligible to apply. IBM provides organizations with credits for IBM Cloud and IBM Environmental Intelligence Suite Data APIs as well as technical mentorship to advance the initiative. GrowthAfrica — Accelerator for African Entrepreneurs

GrowthAfrica supports African businesses and entrepreneurs through an annual accelerator program. Participants of the program receive individualized and tailored in-company support, access to potential investors, leadership training and mentorship. Entrepreneurs in the fields of Agribusiness, Renewable Energy, and Water & Sanitation are especially welcome. The program is open to entrepreneurs from Kenya, Uganda, Ethiopia, Zambia, and Ghana.
