North Atlantic Treaty Organization — Science for Peace and Security

NATO’s support for research in peace and security includes aspects of environment and energy in relation to climate change, water scarcity, increasing energy needs, disaster forecasts, and prevention of natural catastrophes (among others). The SPS Program supports multi-year research projects, research workshops, and training courses. Applications are invited from researchers in NATO’s member countries and its partner countries – including several in East Europe, Eurasia, Central Asia, and the Mediterranean region. InfoNile — Collaboration between Journalists and Scientists

InfoNile aims to promote science-based environmental journalism by facilitating collaboration between journalists and scientists. InfoNile invites applications from journalists and scientists in the Nile Basin countries (Uganda, Kenya, Burundi, Tanzania, Egypt, Sudan, South Sudan, DRC, Ethiopia and Rwanda) for a fellowship program running from May to December 2023. United Nations — Portuguese-speaking Indigenous Fellowship Program

The Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) Indigenous Fellowship Training Programme is open for applications. The call is open only to the indigenous peoples of Brazil, with the aim of later opening the same opportunity to other Portuguese-speaking countries. The aim of the program is to give indigenous persons the opportunity to gain knowledge on the UN system and mechanisms dealing with human rights issues in general and indigenous issues in particular. (Note: This may include land rights and biodiversity conservation issues). Participants will learn how to more effectively advocate for the rights of their communities and raise their concerns at the international level. Earth Journalism Network — Mekong Video Storytelling Fellowship

The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) aims to train content producers from the Lower Mekong countries to tell impactful visual stories about natural resources governance. EJN will select 25 fellows from the Lower Mekong countries for online and in-person training. Following the training, participants will be invited to pitch video story ideas that examine the challenges in Mekong natural resource management and their impacts on local communities and natural habitats. EJN will award the best story ideas with grants of US$ 2,500 each to produce a video. The fellowship is open to applicants from Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam. GrowthAfrica — Accelerator for African Entrepreneurs

GrowthAfrica supports African businesses and entrepreneurs through an annual accelerator program. Participants of the program receive individualized and tailored in-company support, access to potential investors, leadership training and mentorship. Entrepreneurs in the fields of Agribusiness, Renewable Energy, and Water & Sanitation are especially welcome. The program is open to entrepreneurs from Kenya, Uganda, Ethiopia, Zambia, and Ghana. YALI Regional Leadership Center — West Africa Emerging Leaders Program

The YALI West Africa Emerging Leaders Program provides business and entrepreneurship training to young West African leaders from Ghana, Nigeria, Togo, Ivory Coast, Cameroon, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Gambia and Burkina Faso. The program will teach young leaders (between 18 to 35 years) about modern leadership through coursework (in-person or online), a mentorship program, internship or community service, and report writing. OPEC Fund for International Development — Young Professional Development Program

The Young Professional Development Program (YPDP) is a two-year program designed to prepare young professionals from OPEC Fund member countries for a career in global development. The themes include poverty reduction, energy and sustainable development, environment, and other related science and technology fields. YPDP offers training, coaching and mentoring, the opportunity to experience different departments and access to professional networks. SEED — Starter Workshop for Eco-Enterprises in India

SEED offers valuable resources and professional support to expand entrepreneurial ideas while learning from peers during interactive SEED Starter workshops. SEED Starter workshops consist of a team of 2-5 members that bring in a business idea for addressing environmental, social and economic challenges. Successful alumni are invited to apply for a SEED Grant for up to €1,000 which pays for resources required to establish the new enterprise. U.S. Embassy Morocco — Women in STEM Mentorship Program

The U.S. Embassy Morocco announces an open grant competition to award a cooperative agreement to organize a Women in STEM Mentorship Program. The program will foster a community of women in STEM and will provide a platform for young women to connect with each other. Funding of up to US$70 thousand is available for the implementation of the program. The Embassy invites proposals from established Moroccan associations, committed, and organized civil-society organizations. The closing date for applications is 24 April 2023. Link

United Nations World Food Programme — Fighting Hunger Worldwide

The World Food Program (WFP) is the world’s largest humanitarian agency fighting hunger worldwide, delivering food assistance in emergencies and working with communities to improve nutrition and build resilience. The program seeks profit and non-profit organizations with great ideas and bold solutions to solve hunger globally. The Innovation Accelerator offers financial support, training and access to WFP partners and technical experts.
