Roots — Micro-Grants
The Roots Micro-Grants Program supports youth-led projects to empower voices from the Global South to advocate for climate justice. The program provides grants of up to US$10 thousand to initiatives that prioritize climate justice and social equity. The program will provide grants for between 10-15 grassroots youth-led initiatives, with a focus on groups in Latin America, the Caribbean, the Middle East, North Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa, Southeast Asia, and South Asia. Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture — Travel Grants Program
SEARCA provides travel grants to qualified agriculture and agriculture-related professionals, social scientists, or graduate students in Southeast Asia. Applicants can request up to US$1,200 to participate and/or present papers at relevant local or international scientific conferences and fora. SEARCA will now be accepting applications for participation in scientific events held online to support continued scientific/intellectual discourse and information dissemination relevant to agriculture and rural development. Eligibility extends to nationals from Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor-Leste and Vietnam. SEARCA operates on a regular grant schedule with four application deadlines per year. Kurita Water and Environment Foundation — Water Research Grants 2025
The Kurita Water and Environment Foundation (KWEF) supports scientists of Asian nationality who are conducting water research. Research topics include technologies for water/wastewater treatment, water quality analysis, sustainability of water environment sanitation, water ecosystem, and agricultural water use – among other themes. Earth Journalism Network — Story Grants Bay of Bengal Coast
The Earth Journalism Network (EJN)offers support to produce in-depth reports on climate impacts in the Bay of Bengal that are hard to quantify and not usually accounted for by policymakers. Selected applicants will be provided support of up to INR 90,000 or BDT 1.25 lakh each and 1:1 editorial mentorship to produce rigorous and impactful reports. Communicators reporting from coastal Bangladesh and coastal areas of India are eligible to apply. Tokyo University of Agriculture — Scholarship for Dissertation Doctorate Program
The Dissertation Doctorate Program for Agriculture and Natural Resources aims to contribute to the enhancement of agricultural research and development in Southeast Asia. The scholarship provides one slot annually for a three-year graduate program leading to a Dissertation Doctorate at Tokyo NODAI. The scholarship is open only to nationals of Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor Leste and Vietnam. BIMP-EAGA–Republic of Korea Cooperation Fund — Balanced Growth in Southeast Asia
The BKCF invites project proposals for its 5th grant cycle, aiming to promote inclusive and balanced growth in Southeast Asia and contribute to ASEAN Connectivity. Priority sectors include environment (e.g., climate mitigation and adaptation), tourism (e.g., ecotourism), connectivity (e.g., green transport), and agriculture and fisheries (e.g., food security). Eligible applicants are government agencies, public sector institutes, academic and research institutes, NGOs, private sector entities, or other autonomous institutes from Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, and the Republic of Korea. Individuals are not eligible. Grants range from US$100 thousand to US$500 thousand for 1-year projects and US$200 thousand to US$500 thousand for 2-year projects, with a maximum of US$250 thousand per country for multi-country projects. The Bicester Collection announces the 2025 Unlock Her Future Prize, targeting women social entrepreneurs from South Asia. Ashoka identifies and supports teenagers who start their own initiatives for addressing social and environmental problems.
