Government of India — Australia-India Strategic Research Fund

The Government of India invites research projects to apply to the Strategic Research Fund (AISRF). Priority areas for collaborative research projects are energy and storage (batteries) and marine science. Eligible organizations include universities, research laboratories, and non-profit organizations.The Indian Government will sponsor the direct costs for international airfares, living expenses, manpower-salaries and consumables. European Commission — Big Data Solutions for Energy

The European Commission seeks project proposals (two-stage call) for big data application in the energy sector. Projects need to develop a reference architecture for large-scale multi-party data exchange and real-time processing in the energy sector and translate this reference architecture into an open, modular data analytics toolbox. The Commission will consider proposals in the range of €10 million. The European Commission seeks project proposals (two-stage call) that take a systemic approach to tackle the scientific and socio-economic challenges from Antarctica to the Arctic. Activities shall (A) Reinforce international cooperation research between Europe and tropical and South Atlantic countries; (B) Assess the status of Atlantic marine ecosystems; or (C) Explore new value chains for aquaculture production. U.S. National Science Foundation — Graduate Research Opportunities Worldwide 2019

The program GROW provides funding support to U.S. graduate students to engage in international research cooperation. GROW Fellows will receive a travel allowance of US$5 thousand to cover travel and research costs associated with the international research collaboration. Collaboration is with partner institutions in Australia, Austria, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Denmark, Finland, France, India, Ireland, Japan, Korea, Mexico, the Netherlands, Norway, Qatar, Singapore, and Sweden. International Development Research Centre — Climate Change Think Tanks

The IDRC seeks local, independent research organizations, or think tanks, that undertake cross-cutting research or actions on climate mitigation and climate adaptation solutions to tackle climate change challenges in Indonesia. Regional Universities Forum for Capacity Building in Agriculture — Doctoral Research Scholarships

The Social and Environmental Trade-offs in African Agriculture (Sentinel) Project, funded by the UKRI Global Challenges Research Fund (GCRF), aims at building the capacity of African and UK research organizations to address trade-offs between economic, environmental and social outcomes for future agricultural development. For that reason, RUFORUM makes 20 research scholarships to PhD students to undertake research in areas of relevance to the Project. A minimum of 15 research projects have to take place in Ghana, Ethiopia, and Zambia. (Note: students outside the focal countries are eligible to apply as long they conduct their research in these three countries.) Each scholarship is a maximum of US$7,500 over a period of two years. Swedish Agency for Development Cooperation — Planning Grants

The Swedish Agency for Development Cooperation (Sida) seeks applications for its Planning Grants program. Grants are awarded to help entrepreneurs explore new markets and research their technology’s impact on the environment and poverty reduction. The programme’s emphasis is on cleantech products, systems, processes, and services in the following focus areas: climate change adaptation/mitigation; ecosystem services; renewable energy; water and sanitation; and urban development. Eligibility extends to companies or organisations based in Kenya, Mozambique, Tanzania, Zambia, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Bolivia, Colombia, Guatemala, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine.
