Primate Conservation Inc. — Funding for Primate Research

Primate Conservation, Incorporated (PCI) supports conservation programs for wild populations of primates. PCI offers seed monies and matching grants for graduate students, qualified conservationists, and primatologists to study rare and endangered primates. The maximum grant amount is US$5 thousand. Preference is for projects that involve people of the habitat countries. The deadline for grant applications is 20 September of each year. Details here

IFOAM – Organics International — Organic Farming Innovation Award

IFOAM – Organics International and partners accept applications for the Organic Farming Innovation Award (OFIA). OFIA highlights exceptional innovations and incentivizes activities among researchers, extension agents, practitioners that contribute to solving problems in organic farming. The prize is awarded in two categories: the Grand Prize and the Science Prize. Each winner will receive a monetary award (Grand Prize: US$10 thousand and Science Prize: US$5 thousand), and be invited to the 20th edition of the Organic World Congress. Canadian International Development Research Center — Women’s Economic Empowerment in a Low-Carbon COVID-19 Recovery

The Canadian International Development Research Center (IDRC) seeks proposals for projects that will support the generation and use of relevant evidence on women’s economic empowerment in a low-carbon COVID-19 recovery in the Global South. Research projects can either be single- or multi-country studies led by organizations in one country or across countries. Projects may request between CA$750 thousand and CA$1 million in funding for up to 30 months of research. This EOIs is open to organizations based in low- and middle-income countries. Swedish Research Council — Research Links Program

The Swedish Research Links Program funds research cooperation between scientists in Sweden and scientists in selected low and middle-income countries. Past grants have funded research to address water pollution; control of agricultural diseases and post-harvest losses; livestock introductions; management of protected areas; and various other topics related to agriculture and natural resources. International Centre for Biosaline Agriculture — Arab Women Leaders in Agriculture

The International Centre for Biosaline Agriculture (ICBA) seeks applications for the Arab Women Leaders in Agriculture “Awla Fellowship.” The Awla Fellowship is a capacity building program and research fellowship for early- and mid-career female professionals in agriculture. Participants receive research and development training, coaching and mentoring to guide their career development. Eligibility extends to Arab women researchers from Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine, Algeria, Morocco, and Tunisia. The deadline to apply is 15 April 2021. Link

Council of Managers of National Antarctic Programs — Antarctic Fellowship 2021

The Council of Managers of National Antarctic Programs (CONMAP) invites early-career researchers to apply for the COMNAP Antarctic Fellowship. Applications are welcome from a range of disciplines and fields, including Environmental Management and other Science backgrounds. Eligibility extends to candidates who hold a doctorate, masters, or undergraduate degrees with not more than 5 years since completion. One award of up to US$15 thousand is available. Fresno Chaffee Zoo — Grants for Wildlife Conservation

The Fresno Chaffee Zoo Wildlife Conservation Fund makes grants for wildlife conservation and research that focuses on rare, threatened, and endangered animals and their habitats. The priority is for in situ conservation projects. Most grants range from US$2 thousand to US$10 thousand. The principal investigator must be associated with a recognized institution (accredited zoo, academic institution, conservation or non-profit organization). India Department of Science and Technology — Indo-Russian Joint Research

The India Department of Science and Technology (DST) and the Russian Science Foundation (RSF) invite joint research proposals in the areas of basic science. Focus areas include Plant and Animal Biotechnology; Clean Energy; and Safe Food; among others. Each project will receive annual funding of up to equivalent of US$100 thousand in respective national currencies for up to three years. Polish Academy of Sciences — Postdoctoral Fellowships

The Polish Academy of Sciences (PAS) seeks 35 fellows to carry out their research at one of the PAS institutes. The fellowship program is open to scholars of any nationality, representing all research disciplines. Research fields include agricultural sciences, biological sciences, environmental science, geosciences, and many others. Each fellow receives a monthly allowance of €2,500 and, if applicable, an additional family allowance. In addition, fellows will be provided with a research budget of up to €93 thousand per project. Climate Action Innovation Network — Artificial Intelligence for Climate Action

The Canadian International Development Research Center (IDRC) and the Swedish International Development Agency seek organizations from low and lower-middle income countries in Sub-Saharan Africa to host the Climate Action Innovation Network. Applicants must have a proven track record in the design, development, and scaling of climate change and artificial intelligence innovations. The goal is to advance the development of artificial intelligence (AI) innovations to tackle pressing challenges emerging from climate change in Africa. The opportunity will provide funding of up to C$1.2 million to design and implement an innovation research network of researchers and innovators applying responsible AI techniques.
