The awards are made to young students and engineers in Belgium who are carrying out research on the theme of water and its availability — including issues of protecting reserves, managing pollution, developing processing techniques, and others. The Agropolis Fondation seeks to promote the agro-ecological transition by funding PhD research of young scientists. The Consolidation Grant promotes sustainable, longer-term research cooperation between Swiss and Latin American scholars. The Gorilla Organization is a UK-registered charity whose mission is to secure the survival of the world’s last remaining gorillas in the wild. British Academy — Researchers at Risk Fellowships
The Researchers at Risk Fellowships Program supports individual researchers at risk if they are subject to discrimination, persecution, suffering or violence. Researchers will be able to take up temporary fellowships at UK institutions to continue their research and build long-lasting collaborative links with UK counterparts. The Fellowships will cover the natural sciences, medical sciences, engineering, humanities and social sciences with applications made via UK-based institutions. The awards are expected to run for up to two years. The total amount available is circa £37 thousand per year (£74 thousand over two years). Save Our Species — Threatened Species Grants Sturgeons
IUCN Save Our Species (SOS) aims to support on-the-ground conservation actions with the goal of improving the status of threatened sturgeon species and their habitats in the Black Sea basin. The goal is to enable and support conservation projects that can apply sustainable conservation measures to protect threatened sturgeon species, their habitats and to improve the livelihoods of the people who depend on them. Grants range from CHF50 thousand to CHF150 thousand. SOS requires matching resources in relation to grant size.
