United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change — Global Climate Action Awards

The United Nations (UN) welcomes the submission activities that serve as examples of what people around the world are doing to address climate change. For 2023, the Awards seek to highlight the innovative climate action that young people around the world are undertaking to ensure their communities are more sustainable, resilient, and equitable places to live. The winners will receive a range of benefits, including fully-paid participation at the UN Climate Change Conference in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The deadline for applications is 15 October 2023. The Commonwealth Secretary-General — Innovation for Sustainable Development Awards

Innovation for Sustainable Development Awards recognize ground-breaking innovations from Commonwealth countries that contribute to one or more of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals. Each winner will receive a trophy, a certificate and a cash prize of £3,000. Nominees can be individuals, organizations, companies, charities or government bodies. Farm Radio International — Farm Radio Awards

The Liz Hughes Award for Her Farm Radio recognizes excellent radio programs that serve women listeners. Winning radio programs explore topics that are important to women, for example health, education, agriculture, or a combination of topics. The winning broadcast team will receive a certificate and C$1,000. Farm Radio International broadcasting partners in Sub-Saharan Africa can apply. The deadline to apply is 20 October 2023. Halcyon — MENA Fellowship

The Halcyon MENA Fellowship helps founders and entrepreneurs to build Health, Climate, and EquityTech solutions for impact across the Middle East and North Africa. Fellows receive expert training in Washington, DC, and critical resources to accelerate their venture. Fellows accepted into this program will receive US$5 thousand equity-free living stipend per venture. Eligibility extends to for-profit startups with scalable solutions. Commonwealth Foundation — Grants for Civil Society in Commonwealth Countries

The Commonwealth Foundation makes grants to civil society organizations in Commonwealth countries to support participatory governance. (Note: This could include participatory governance related to the management of forests, wildlife, water supplies, and other subjects in natural resources and environment.) The total grant amount requested must be between £15 thousand and £30 thousand per year for a maximum of two years. A list of eligible countries is included in the call. Malmar Knowles Family Foundation — Youth Leadership Program

The Knowles Educational and Charitable Trust for International Leadership (Kectil) Program is a one year web-based mentoring program in youth leadership. The program consists of multiple-week modules with assignments to address issues facing youth globally. Youth (aged 17-26) from developing countries are eligible to apply. Bat Conservation International — Student Research Scholarships for Bat Conservation

Bat Conservation International (BCI) requests proposals from student researchers seeking financial support for bat conservation research projects. Research may focus on human-caused environmental changes (such as land development or climate change on bats), bat-human conflicts (such as hunting, roost disturbance, and persecution), or behavioral or ecological questions that aid the protection of a bat species. The geographical scope is Latin America and the Caribbean; Africa and its adjacent islands; and globally. BCI anticipates granting up to US$3,000 each. Additional funding is available through special awards. The scholarship is only open to students who are registered with a recognized academic institution. Mozilla Technology Fund — AI and Environmental Justice

The Mozilla Technology Fund seeks to fund open source projects at the intersection of environmental justice and AI which are making a positive impact in ecosystems and human communities. Mozilla is interested in convening technical projects that have a firm grounding in environmental and climate justice, sustainability, and ecology. Applicants should have a product or working prototype. The Mozilla Technology Fund will provide awards of up to US$50 thousand and one year of mentorship. The application deadline is 05 October 2023. AXA Research Fund — Research on Risk Management, Academic Chairs 2024

The AXA Research Fund supports research to help understand risk management and prevention, including risks related to natural disasters and climate change. Applications can be submitted by pre-registered research institutions in EU member states and collaborating countries — including a selection of developing and emerging countries in the Asia-Pacific region; Africa and the Middle East; and Latin America. U.S Agency for International Development — Climate Gender Equity Fund

The Climate Gender Equity Fund (CGEF) aims to increase access to finance for community-based organizations that advances gender equitable climate action. The Fund seeks climate- and gender-smart fund managers and entrepreneur networks aiming to unlock capital for long-term and systemic change. Organizations may propose to use grant funding for a variety of purposes including building their own capacity to provide gender-smart and gender transformative climate finance. CGEF is targeting grant awards of US$100 thousand to US$300 thousand, but will consider grants up to US$500 thousand. The application deadline is 06 October 2023. Climate Gender Equity Fund
