WWF Nepal’s Memorial Scholarships assist students who wish to pursue careers in conservation. WWF Nepal offers several scholarships to conservationists and/or promising students to pursue a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in the field of environment and biodiversity conservation in Nepal. The scholarship recipient will receive an equivalent of approx. US$4 thousand over 4 years to cover tuition, field equipment and field tour fees, living expenses, books and supplies, and thesis research costs. Canada Fund for Local Initiatives — Community Projects in Vietnam
The Canada Fund for Local Initiatives invites proposals that meet the needs of local communities in Vietnam. The priorities under this call include women’s economic rights, decent jobs and entrepreneurship, and investing in the poorest and most vulnerable (which may include agriculture or aquaculture projects), as well as environment, climate action focusing on adaptation and mitigation, and water management. The average contribution is C$15 thousand to C$30 thousand per project. Eligibility extends to local community organizations, non-profit organizations, and academic institutions. Fondation Segré — Conservation Action Fund
Fondation Segré provides support to address global conservation efforts specifically focusing on the conservation of globally threatened ungulate species as recognized by the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species. The calls aim to safeguard their habitats, address the threats they face, and promote the well-being of both the species themselves and the communities that share the same ecosystems. The maximum grant size for conservation action support is €50 thousand for a maximum duration of 12 months. The maximum grant size for research support is €7 thousand. Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development — Development Projects in Arab Countries
The Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development (AFESD) finances development projects in countries of the League of Arab States. Grants can be used for technical and economic feasibility studies; or seminars and conferences. Thematic areas include agriculture and dry lands, water supply, environment, and many others. Grant size varies from less than US$20 thousand to over US$10 million. Grants are made to governmental organizations, NGOs, and civil society organizations. There is no application deadline. Blue Marine Foundation — Ocean Awards
The Ocean Awards recognize individuals, community groups, organizations, and businesses that have made significant contributions to the health of the marine environment, to the sustainable management of marine resources, or to public engagement with the oceans and seas. Winners will receive media coverage and have a professional film about their achievements. Initiatives from all around the world can be nominated for the award. Embassy of Finland in Kyiv — Local Cooperation Fund Ukraine
The Embassy of Finland seeks applications from local Ukrainian NGOs for projects to be funded by the Local Cooperation Fund (LCF). The project should focus on energy and environment; or education and training. The total amount to be disbursed to the selected projects is €500 thousand. Energy Globe Award for Sustainability — Awards 2024
The Energy Globe Award recognizes outstanding projects worldwide that conserve and protect natural resources, and that employ renewable energy. Energy Globe seeks innovative projects and smart technologies in five categories: Earth, Fire, Water, Air, and Youth. The international winners in each of the five categories receive €2000 in prize money. Applicants can be individuals as well as organizations (i.e., private companies and corporations, development NGOs, community associations, government agencies, universities, and others) that contribute to climate change and other environmental issues. CFLI provides funding to projects that create income-earning opportunities for women (which may also include rural agricultural development). The average contribution is C$30 thousand to C$40 thousand per project. Eligibility extends to not-for-profit local, national, or community-based organizations. Noel Buxton Trust — Promoting Livelihoods in Africa
The Noel Buxton Trust makes grants of up to £10 thousand per year for up to three years for projects in Africa that develop sustainable livelihoods in community settings. Past recent projects on the theme of economic development include examples in livestock raising, aquaculture, and credit for women-led businesses. The Trust especially welcomes applications in support of initiatives that help build sustainable futures in the semi-arid areas of Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia, Uganda, Sudan, and South Sudan. The Trust invites applications from registered civil society organizations in Africa, and from UK-based charities — including from diaspora organizations based in the UK – for projects in the priority countries. Cultural Survival — Small Grants for Indigenous-led Projects
The Keepers of the Earth Fund (KOEF) is a small grant fund supporting Indigenous values-based community development. Grants range between US$500 and US$7 thousand and are awarded to Indigenous-led projects, organizations, and groups worldwide.
