The Environmental Research & Education Foundation (EREF) seeks applications for the Sustainable Solid Waste Management Research Program in North America. Pre-proposals must relate to sustainable solid waste management practices in the topic areas of waste conversion to energy, biological conversion technologies, and recycling, among others. Previously awarded grants have ranged from $15 thousand to over $500 thousand with an average grant size of about $160 thousand for 2 years. There are no restrictions in regard to geographic location. EREF has two deadlines per year with pre-proposals being accepted 15 days prior to the deadline date. Arab Gulf Programme for Development — Prize for Human Development
The Prince Talal International Prize for Human Development supports efforts aiming at the promotion and enhancement of human development concepts. The objective is to highlight innovative experiences and continuously support distinguished efforts in various fields of development. The 2025 Prize honors projects and initiatives in line with SDG 7 “Affordable and Clean Energy”. Prizes range from US$100 thousand to US$400 thousand. Projects implemented by UN agencies, international or regional NGOs, governmental bodies, social business enterprises, and individuals are eligible. South Pole — Nature-based Climate Action Projects
South Pole offers landowners, community groups, conservation organizations, and other groups the opportunity to develop their own nature-based climate action projects. South Pole seeks conservation and restoration projects in forestry and land use that protect wildlife, empower communities, and create sustainable economies, as well as large-scale nature-based solutions for a post-COVID green recovery. Ecosystem protection projects and restoration projects must focus on creating or protecting the habitat of endangered species. The IFF Global Green Finance Award seeks innovative green finance solutions worldwide. Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund — Biodiversity Conservation in Madagascar and the Indian Ocean Islands
The Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund (CEPF) seeks to empower communities and civil society in Madagascar and the Indian Ocean Islands to implement actions to improve the resilience of species, ecosystems, and human populations to climate change. CEPF intends to make small grants of up to US$50 thousand in support of strengthening the capacity of local communities and civil society at regional and local levels to enhance adaptive capacity and reduce exposure to climate change risks, and supporting research and ensure the dissemination of results for the promotion and improvement of knowledge on ecosystem-based adaptation actions. FONTAGRO invites submissions to the LATAM 2025 Agrobioentrepreneurship with Impact competition, aimed at identifying, incubating, and accelerating the top 100 agrobioentrepreneur ventures across Latin America and Spain that demonstrate high socioeconomic and environmental impact. Eligible applicants include agriproducers, producer organizations, private companies, and public or private R&D institutions (e.g. universities, NGOs). The Amphibian Conservation Fund supports conservation actions for threatened amphibian species worldwide. Projects must focus on species listed as Critically Endangered, Endangered, or Vulnerable on the IUCN Red List. Initiatives targeting Data Deficient or Not Evaluated species may also qualify if a clear conservation concern is demonstrated. Eligible activities include habitat protection, urgent field research, conservation breeding, reintroductions, training, education, and community engagement. Funding is available for projects up to €5,000 with a duration of up to 12 months. Proposals are accepted in English or German, and the program is open to applicants from any country.
