Aqua for All aims to facilitate sustainable access to water & sanitation and therefore requests concept notes on solutions to water challenges in Africa or South Asia. Aqua for All provides grant money to scale and implement solutions that address drinking water, sanitation and/or water management. Global Youth Mobilization — Local Solutions Fund
Global Youth Mobilization is a movement of young people taking action to improve their lives in a post-COVID-19 world. The Local Solutions Fund supports young people that have an idea for a solution to overcome a challenge created by the COVID-19 pandemic to support their local community. Individuals or informal groups can apply for up to UD$1,500. Youth-led grassroots organizations can apply for up to US$5,000. Any young person between the ages of 14 – 30 can apply. Applications must be aligned with the WHO’s recommendations on COVID-19 public health measures (e.g., water and sanitation). Applications will be reviewed on a three month rolling cycle. Asia-Pacific Network for Sustainable Forest Management and Rehabilitation — Forest Rehabilitation and Management
The Asia-Pacific Network for Sustainable Forest Management and Rehabilitation (APFNet) provides grants for field demonstration projects which showcase best practices in forest rehabilitation and management in APEC member countries. APFNet-funded projects are aimed at rehabilitating degraded forests and increasing forest cover, promoting sustainable forest management to enhance the ecological function and health of forests, and enhancing the contribution of forests to socio-economic development and local livelihoods. APFNet supports small projects that apply for less than US$10 thousand as well as regular projects with budgets of up to US$500 thousand. The proposed project cannot exceed 36 months in duration. Tiny Beam Fund — Fellowship: Negative Impacts of Global Industrial Food Animal Production
Tiny Beam Fund offers communication grants to researchers who wish to “address negative impacts of global industrial food animal production” (especially in low- and middle-income countries). Communication Grants are aimed at encouraging academics who have studied the problems caused by global industrial animal agriculture to take steps to share their research. The amount requested should not exceed US$5 thousand for a 12-month period. The fund is directed to PhD researchers from any residence, citizenship, or location. Earth Journalism Network — Introductory Biodiversity Course for Journalists
The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) launches an introductory biodiversity course for journalists – “From Microbes to Rainforests”. The online course is self-paced and designed to help journalists reporting on biodiversity to better understand the most pressing issues, from conservation to climate change to synthetic biology. Oak Foundation — Marine Conservation, Climate Change, and Wildlife Trade
The Oak Foundation makes grants in several thematic areas, including Environment. Oak’s grants in the sub-theme of marine conservation focus on industrial fishing, small-scale fisheries, and plastics pollution. The Foundation also makes grants to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in North America, Europe, and some emerging economies, e.g., Brazil, China, and India. The Foundation’s sub-theme on illegal wildlife trade aims to conserve populations of African elephants and rhinos by curbing their illegal hunting and trade. SADC Secretariat — Water Fund
The SADC Regional Fund for Water Infrastructure and Basic Sanitation (SADC Water Fund) is the key financing facility for the development and integration of the water sector in the Southern African region. The Fund finances infrastructure projects to improve the supply for drinking water and water for agricultural use for the poor. The Fund will finance major service contracts only. Therefore, only projects requiring a grant of a minimum of €2 million and a maximum of €4 million will be considered for support. Eligibility extends to governments of SADC Member States and their agencies (water utilities, local government, municipalities, etc.) and regional institutions promoted by governments.
