Communication Foundation — Climate Communication Fund

The Climate Communication Fund supports communication and climate action by supporting CSOs in enhancing their communication strategies. The Fund offers grants of up to €10 thousand to increase the communication capacity of climate nonprofits. Eligible organizations are encouraged to propose projects that leverage various communication channels, including digital media, community outreach, and educational programs. European Journalism Centre — Journalism Science Alliance

The Journalism Science Alliance (JSA) grant program aims to foster investigative journalism grounded in scientific principles. This initiative provides grant funding, alongside training, mentoring, and networking opportunities, to cultivate collaboration between journalism and research institutions. The JSA offers grants of up to €50 thousand. The grants are open to collaborative projects involving at least one media outlet and one research or academic organization. Posterheroes — International Contest about Social and Environmental Issues

Submissions are open for the Posterheroes contest that calls for posters about social and environmental issues. Posterheroes invites students, professional designers, and everyone who is into graphic design to create a poster. Participants can win a cash prize of up to US$2,500. World Photography Organization — Sony World Photography Awards

The Sony World Photography Awards, one of the world’s leading photography competitions, recognizes the best single images from across 10 diverse categories, including ‘Landscape’ and ‘Natural World & Wildlife’. Yale School of the Environment — Film Contest

The Yale Environment 360 Film Contest accepts entries of environmental films from around the world. Submissions should focus on an environmental issue and be a maximum of 20 minutes in length. Earth Journalism Network — Awareness About Renewable Energy in India

The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) invites fellowship applications to boost video content production and distribution of information to build awareness about renewable energy in India. Applications are open to India-based video content producers. EJN will provide remuneration and mentorship to each selected applicant, depending on the proposal and budget provided by the applicant. Earth Journalism Network — Story Grants to Report on Great Apes and One Health in Africa

The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) offers reporting grants to journalists in Africa to support the production of in-depth stories on threats faced by great apes, particularly the impact of disease and other health considerations, as well as conservation strategies to protect these species and their habitats. Applications are open to journalists working in any medium (online, print, television, radio) and other media practitioners with experience covering conservation and/or One Health issues in range countries. Pulitzer Center — Global Reporting Grant

The Pulitzer Center Global Reporting Grant supports in-depth, high-impact reporting on critical issues that are often overlooked in the media, from global health to climate change. The Pulitzer Center will provide a travel grant of US$5 thousand for a reporting project on topics of global importance. The Grant is open to all journalists, writers, photographers, radio producers, filmmakers, staff journalists as well as freelancers and media professionals from any developing country. Earth Journalism Network — Biodiversity Story Grants 2025

The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) makes reporting grants to support the production of in-depth stories that highlight previously untold threats to global biodiversity or explore new conservation-based solutions. Applications are open to journalists working in any medium (online, print, television, radio) and other expert media practitioners with experience in investigative reporting and covering environmental issues. The Network only accepts applications for stories focused on countries classified as low- or middle-income by the World Bank. ENJ expects to award story grants of up to €1.000 to €2.000 each. Pulitzer Center — Africa Climate and Environment Micro Grants

The Pulitzer Center seeks local movements across Africa to promote climate and environmental action by supporting outreach initiatives that creatively integrate Pulitzer Center-supported journalism. Participants will receive micro grants to develop community engagement, dialogue forums, and awareness campaigns focused on climate and labor, rainforest protection, and ocean conservation. Grants range from US$2,500 to US$3,000. Eligibility extends to local organizations and movements targeting young professionals or communities across Africa. Applications close on 30 April 2025.
