EuroMarine — EMBRC Services for Early-Career Researchers
The European Marine Biological Research Centre (EMBRC) offers grants for services to 10 EuroMarine early-career scientists (PhD students or researchers within 5 years of their PhD degree). Applicants must belong to an organization that is a member of EuroMarine. Each successful applicant will receive a grant of €5 thousand to cover the cost of EMBRC services. Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund — Biodiversity Conservation in the Mediterranean Basin (Tunisia)
The Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund (CEPF) makes small grants (US$ 5-8 thousand) to private enterprises in Tunisia in support of biodiversity conservation in coastal areas in the Mediterranean region. The overall aim of this call is to engage private sector stakeholders to adopt sustainable practices. Projects should be implemented in the future marine protected area (MPA) of Zembra and Zembretta. UK Royal Society — Grants for Scientific Meetings
The Royal Society hosts a program of scientific meetings each year with the aim to bring together scientists from around the world to present and discuss new research in all areas of science. Each meeting is organised by leaders in the field, using their expertise to ensure the key topics are covered. The Royal Society contributes to travel and expenses for the meeting and provides logistical support. Proposals are invited from any UK-based researcher. The Joint Programming Initiatives (JPIs) on Water, Oceans and Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) announces a call for research and innovation projects on risks posed to human health and the environment by pollutants and pathogens present in water resources. Earth Journalism Network — Workshop: Indian Ocean Marine Science
The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) seeks journalists to attend a three-day marine science workshop in the Maldives (24-26 June 2020). This opportunity is open to journalists from specific countries around the Indian Ocean to gain a better understanding of marine issues and how to report on them. The workshop will be held in English, therefore, participants must be able to understand and communicate in English. EJN will pay for travel, accommodation and meals of selected participants. U.S. Agency for International Development — Save Forests and Biodiversity in the Philippines
USAID aims to combat threats to biodiversity caused by habitat loss and degradation due to deforestation, mining and marine ecosystem degradation, and overexploitation in the Philippines. Therefore, USAID seeks projects and activities to be implemented in areas of biological significance and/or land areas of high climate change mitigation potential. The total estimated budget under this call is US$22 million. USAID intends to make two to three awards.
