U.S. Department of State — Professional Fellows Program for Latin America and the Caribbean

The U.S. Department of State invites proposal submissions for the Young Leaders of the Americas (YLAI) Fellowship Program. The global exchange program will support approx. 250 social entrepreneurs from Latin America and the Caribbean in a five to six-week Fellowship program, including entrepreneurial training and workshops. Eligible applicants include non-profit organizations and institutions of higher education. Applications have to be submitted by 15 February 2023. Link to YLAI

UNESCO — Award for Biosphere Reserve Management

The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) sponsors the Michel Batisse Award for outstanding achievements in biosphere reserve management. The award is US$12 thousand and international travel and allowances in Paris to present the winning case study to the MAB-ICC session. Future Africa Leaders Foundation — Future Africa Challenge

The Future Africa Challenge is a competition to explore the creative potentials of young Africans in Africa and the diaspora. The Challenge seeks projects or solutions of young innovators within 7 categories: Education, Technology, Entrepreneurship, Humanitarian, Agriculture, Advocacy and Movie. International Sustainable Chemistry Collaborative Centre — Sustainable Chemistry and Agriculture

The International Sustainable Chemistry Collaborative Centre seeks applications for the Innovation Challenge 2023 – “Sustainable Chemistry and Agriculture.” The challenge addresses innovators developing solutions in the field of fertilizers; nutrient recovery in soil; precision farming; crop protection; water; renewable energy in agriculture; valorization of agricultural waste; and solutions addressing biodiversity loss. The overall Innovation Challenge Winner will receive a cash prize of €15 thousand. Global Sustainable Electricity Partnership — Masters Studies in Sustainable Energy

The Global Sustainable Electricity Partnership comprises many of the world’s largest energy companies in partnership with international organizations, development banks, institutes, and foundations. The program sponsors ESED (Education for Sustainable Energy Development) to support outstanding students from developing countries to pursue masters-level studies directly related to sustainable energy. The support is US$10 thousand per year for up to two years. Applications are invited from any developing country on the list of ODA recipients. The next application deadline is 07 April 2023. United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization — Prize on Education for Sustainable Development

The UNESCO-Japan Prize on Education for sustainable development recognizes the role of education in connecting the social, economic, cultural and environmental dimensions of sustainable development. The prize consists of three annual awards of US$50 thousand. Institutions, organizations or other entities engaged in education can be nominated. Nominations have to be submitted by 21 April 2023. Earth Journalism Network — Story Grants to Strengthen Environmental Coverage

The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) offers story grants of up to US$2,500 to journalists to produce stories on transnational conservation crimes in the Amazon Region and the threats faced by Indigenous peoples and local communities in Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, and Peru. Applicants can be based in Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, and Peru; applicants residing in the Amazon region of these countries are preferred. Applications are open to journalists working in any medium (online, print, television, radio) and other expert media practitioners with professional reporting experience. IMMANA — Career Development Fellowships

Innovative Methods and Metrics for Agriculture and Nutrition Actions (IMMANA) is a research initiative with the aim to stimulate the development of innovative methodological approaches in agriculture and food systems for improved health and nutrition. IMMANA awards post-doctoral fellowships to emerging leaders who are applying and/or validating new methodological approaches in ongoing research programs in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). The fellowship includes a research stipend, a travel allowance, and an honorarium for mentors. Fellows conduct their research in Africa or Asia under the joint supervision of two mentors. Earth Journalism Network — Coastal Resilience Story Grants

The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) offers reporting grants to journalists worldwide to support the production of in-depth stories that will call attention to coastal resiliency and solutions for coastal issues. EJN welcomes any story ideas that will explore coastal resilience issues, including ecosystem rehabilitation, livelihood and food security, shelter and infrastructure, land use and development. Ventures For Sustainability — Fellowship Program

The Ventures for Sustainability Fellowship Program is an 8-week long regional incubation virtual program that offers capacity building and provides hands-on experience with creating impactful small grass-root level projects in the South Asia region. Successful fellows are provided with different types of learning and training seminars. Applicants from the following South Asian countries can apply: Bangladesh, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka.
