International Fund for Agricultural Development — Rural Youth Employment
The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) invites applications for grants to implement rural youth employment opportunities. The grant program will be implemented in nine countries in Sub-Saharan Africa, for a total amount of up to US$1.2 million. The applicant must ensure a minimum cash contribution of eight per cent of the total proposal cost and an in-kind contribution. The recipient can be a governmental organization, a business development institution, a civil society organization, an academic/research institution or a private sector entity. UNESCO — Creation of Geoparks
UNESCO and the Global Geoparks Network (GGN) make grants to support the creation of geoparks in Small Island Developing States. Geoparks are sites and landscapes of international geological significance that are managed with a holistic concept of protection, education and sustainable development. UNESCO offers tailor-made consultancy services specifically designed to support local teams to develop a UNESCO Geopark project. Ocean Innovation Challenge — Area-Based Management and the Blue Economy
The Ocean Innovation Challenge (OIC) seeks innovative solutions for ecosystem-based management of marine ecosystems. Solutions must indicate effective strategies for the management of Marine Protected Areas (MPA) while enabling coastal communities and nations to realize enhanced social and economic benefits from the sustainable utilization of their ocean and coastal resources. Governmental agencies, NGOs, private sector (including start-ups), academia, UN, and intergovernmental organizations are eligible to apply. SADC Secretariat — Water Fund
The SADC Regional Fund for Water Infrastructure and Basic Sanitation (SADC Water Fund) is the key financing facility for the development and integration of the water sector in the Southern African region. The Fund finances infrastructure projects to improve the supply for drinking water and water for agricultural use for the poor. The Fund will finance major service contracts only. Therefore, only projects requiring a grant of a minimum of €2 million and a maximum of €4 million will be considered for support. Eligibility extends to governments of SADC Member States and their agencies (water utilities, local government, municipalities, etc.) and regional institutions promoted by governments. Association of Zoos and Aquariums — Conservation Grants Fund 2022
The AZA’s Conservation Grants Fund makes grants for animal health; animal welfare; conservation education; field conservation and/or reintroduction; management and/or breeding; and research. The principal investigator in a grants application must be an AZA member. Many grants are awarded to collaborations among AZA-accredited institutions; government wildlife agencies; academia; and conservation NGOs. The Melinda Gray Ardia Environmental Foundation seeks to contribute to the development, implementation, and/or field testing of environmental curricula. Initiative for Climate Action Transparency — Methodology of Climate Finance
The Initiative for Climate Action Transparency (ICAT) seeks a grantee to develop a methodology that supports the tracking of climate finance at the national level, links climate action to climate finance, and enables the integration of such data in a country’s transparency framework. The grantee will also provide technical support to up to three developing countries in developing a national framework to assess the climate finance needed. Inter-American Development Bank — Urban Challenges in Latin America
The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) launches the challenge Cities for All, which seeks to identify urban challenges in Latin American and Caribbean cities. The call focuses on vulnerability and resilience to climate change and natural disasters, among other themes. Three teams will be selected to receive technical assistance of up to $35 thousand, to work on the implementation of a prototype or pilot project.
