The U.S. Department of State announces an open competition for organizations to submit applications to carry out a program to conduct a series of virtual storytelling and filmmaking classes to multiple countries within the Pacific Island Region. “My Climate Story” will offer master classes to enable Pacific Islander youth to use their smartphone and tell how climate change affects them. Prospective applicants must submit a draft schedule of virtual sessions involving storytelling and filmmaking curriculum, to be conducted over an eight-week period. Awards may range from a minimum of US$25 thousand to a maximum of US$30 thousand. Climate Investment Funds — Nature-based Solutions
The Climate Investment Funds (CIF) finances Nature-based solutions that recognize the interdependence between land use, climate change mitigation and adaptation, and improve the sources of livelihoods of rural communities and Indigenous Peoples. CIF launches the selection process for identifying countries that will receive funding under the Nature, People and Climate Investment program. The Greater Mekong Subregion Secretariat invites applications to the Climate Change and Environmental Sustainability Program (CCESP). The program’s six priority themes are climate and disaster resilience, low-carbon transitions, climate-smart landscapes, environmental quality through pollution control and sustainable waste management, digital technology for climate actions and environmental sustainability, and financing low-carbon and climate-resilient infrastructure and technology. The Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI) invites proposals that meet the needs of local communities in Tunisia. CFLI provides funding to projects that implement environment and climate action projects focusing on adaptation and mitigation, water management, and other thematic priorities. The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) invites applications for grants to implement rural youth employment opportunities. The Ocean Innovation Challenge (OIC) seeks innovative solutions for ecosystem-based management of marine ecosystems. Solutions must indicate effective strategies for the management of Marine Protected Areas (MPA) while enabling coastal communities and nations to realize enhanced social and economic benefits from the sustainable utilization of their ocean and coastal resources.
