With financial support from the government of Sweden, the AAU will make grants of up to US$600 per person to help post-graduate university students acquire practical skills via internships of 12-24 weeks. The grants are for training purposes only, not for the completion of theses or dissertations. World Intellectual Property Organization — Indigenous Fellowship Program 2017-2018
The World Intellectual Property Organization offers the WIPO Indigenous Fellowship to build stronger capacity in the field of indigenous intellectual property law, and to strengthen capacity on intellectual property law and policy for indigenous lawyers and policy advisers. Subject areas include legal measures to protect traditional knowledge; traditional cultural expressions; and genetic resources. Applications are invited from indigenous persons who have the necessary legal qualifications, or equivalent in

Government of Czech Republic — Scholarships for University Applicants from Developing Countries
The Czech Republic provides scholarships to support nationals from developing countries at public institutions of higher education in the Czech Republic. The fields of study include ecology, wildlife management, natural resources, forestry, and tropical agriculture (among others). Applications need to be submitted before 30 September of each year. Qatar National Research Fund — Women in Science
The Qatar National Research Fund (QNRF), in partnership with CRDF Global, welcomes applications from Qatari and Qatar-born female PhD students and MSc graduates for the Women in Science fellowship. The selected WIS fellows will spend four months at a U.S. university department under the direction of leading female researchers for work in one of the following four topics: ecology of infectious diseases; environmental science; cyber security; or materials science in energy. CRDF Global will coordinate the travel arrangements and accommodations for all selected fellows for the duration of the fellowship. The application deadline has been extended to 30 September 2016. U.S. Department of State — Fulbright/Clinton Fellowship 2017-2018
The J. William Fulbright-Hillary Rodham Clinton (Fulbright-Clinton) Fellowship is a component of the Fulbright U.S. Student Program. The fellowships provide professional experience and research opportunities in public policy areas that include agriculture, energy, environment, and others. Host countries in 2017-2018 are the African Union, Burma (Myanmar), Chile, Cote d’Ivoire, Guatemala, Kosovo, Malawi, Nepal, Peru, Samoa, Timor-Leste, and Ukraine. Mexican International Cooperation Agency (AMEXCID) — Scholarships for International Students 2017
AMEXCID announces the availability of scholarships for international students from all world regions to study at over 90 participating institutions in Mexico. The funding is for international students undertaking a specialization; pursuing a master’s degree or doctorate; conducting graduate-level research; or taking part in an undergraduate or graduate-level academic mobility program in Mexico. Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) — RONPAKU Fellowships for PhD Students 2017
The RONPAKU fellowships are a program of the JSPS to support students from Asia, the Middle East, and Africa to pursue PhD degrees from Japanese universities. Each fellow submits a research dissertation co-supervised by an advisor in Japan and an advisor in the fellow’s home country. The fellows do not pursue doctoral courses in Japan (i.e., dissertation only). RONPAKU will award about 20 fellowships across all subject areas. The application deadline is 24 August 2016 for submissions to RONPAKU from Japanese universities; applicants need to send their documents to their prospective Japanese advisors in advance of this deadline. Institute of International Education — Carnegie African Diaspora Fellowship Program
The Carnegie African Diaspora Fellowship Program (CADFP) is a fellowship program for African-born academics currently living in the USA and Canada, and working in higher education. Fellows engage in educational projects for periods ranging from two weeks to three months at universities and colleges in Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa, Tanzania, and Uganda. There are no restrictions by disciplinary areas. Past fellows include examples in veterinary medicine, biology, forestry, and other areas of the natural sciences. MASHAV — Policies and Economics for Green Development
Israel’s Agency for International Development (MASHAV) supports professional short courses in Israel in subject areas that include agriculture, energy, health, education, and social development. In collaboration with the Weitz Center for Sustainable Development, MASHAV announces a course on policies and economic measures for local and regional green growth, scheduled for October-November 2016. A limited number of scholarships are available to cover course fees, accommodation, medical insurance, and other expenses in Israel. Applications are submitted through Israel’s diplomatic missions.
