The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) announces the third round of National Calls for Proposals (MOROCCO) 2021: supporting remittances in times of crisis in Africa. IFAD seeks to reduce poverty and promote development by leveraging both international and domestic remittances and migrant capital in rural areas of developing countries. Empower a Billion Lives — Solutions to Energy Poverty
IEEE Empower a Billion Lives is a global competition aimed at fostering innovation to develop solutions to electricity access. Solutions are expected to be scalable, innovative and sustainable. The competition is open to student groups, companies, research institutions, and non-profit organizations. Winners of the regional round will be provided enough funding to complete a 2-month long field pilot. Global final winners will receive up to $1 million in prize monies. EIT Climate-KIC — Climate Action Citizen Engagement
The European Commission launches the design phase of the New European Bauhaus (NEB) initiative. EIT Climate-KIC calls for climate innovation in public space through citizen engagement. Projects should mobilize citizen-driven initiatives and ideas all across-Europe and bring together cities, regions and social engagement innovators to empower civil society and drive climate action. EIT Climate-KIC will select three proposals and will grant a maximum of €30 thousand per proposal to develop a public space co-design activity in a city or region with civil society leadership. European Commission seeks to improve the governance of water for agricultural, drinking and pastoral use in Madagascar. The priorities of this call for proposals are drinking water supply, pastoral hydraulic works, as well as water, hygiene and sanitation. The overall indicative amount made available is €1,3 million. Global Landscapes Forum — Restore the Sahel Region in Africa
The GLFx initiative, in partnership with the Robert Bosch Foundation, supports five new GLFx chapters with seed funding of €5 thousand each in order to restore the greater Sahel region in Africa. GLFx chapters are regular gatherings (online or in a village/town/city) to mobilize the community and coordinate local action projects. Members can join independently organized chapters that meet locally to accelerate restoration activities within their landscapes. International Secretariat for Water — Global Youth Take Action
Global Youth Take Action invites projects with the objective to support the implementation of youth-led initiatives related to sustainable water resources management and climate change adaptation. The call for projects aims to support initiatives regarding water & health, water & agriculture, water-related risks, and water sharing working towards Sustainable Development Goals. Selected projects will receive financial support up to CA$5 thousand each and technical support. The project must be led and implemented by youth aged between 18 and 35. Projects from low- and middle-income countries, projects targeting indigenous communities, projects led by young women and projects targeting women will be prioritized.
