The Nature Conservancy — Mangrove-Positive Businesses Funding

The Nature Conservancy supports scalable, nature-positive business models that incentivize the conservation of mangroves, seagrasses, and tidal marshes. The 2025 call focuses on four high-impact value chains: integrated mud crab aquaculture, sustainable shrimp farming, nutraceutical products from mangroves, and Nypa palm-based goods such as sugar, vinegar, and biodegradable crafts. Up to US$1.25 million in total funding and technical assistance will be allocated to around five selected partners. Pacific Climate Change Centre — Climate Change Basic Project Ideas

The Pacific Climate Change Centre (PCCC) invites public and private sector entities across Pacific island countries to submit proposals for drafting foundational climate change project ideas aimed at fostering public–private collaboration on adaptation and mitigation. The program provides tailored mentoring support (technical guidance rather than direct funding), focused on idea formulation in thematic areas including climate resilience, environmental governance, biodiversity, waste management, and organizational strategies. Africa Sustainable Futures Awards — Scalable Solutions for Africa’s Development

The Africa Sustainable Futures Awards recognize commercially viable and scalable initiatives contributing to sustainable development across Africa. The awards cover five categories: Access to Electricity & Infrastructure, Agribusiness, Healthcare, Local Manufacturing, and Tourism, with an additional Judges’ Award for Excellence. Winners will receive global visibility, recognition at the FT Africa Summit in London, and opportunities to network with global leaders. The application deadline is 15 August 2025. U.S. National Fish and Wildlife Foundation — Seabird Conservation Program 2025

The U.S. National Fish and Wildlife Foundation (NFWF) invites applications to improve populations of focal Pacific seabirds through actions that increase survival and reproduction. Proposed projects may address the management of non-native, invasive animals; restoration of nesting grounds and habitat; research and monitoring activities to address conservation needs; or activities that reduce bycatch. International Fund for Agricultural Development — Women-led Agribusinesses

The Women’s Market Access Open Innovation Challenge invites women-led or gender-inclusive agribusinesses operating in Somalia to submit solutions that enhance market access, competitiveness, financial inclusion, and scalability for women agro-entrepreneurs. African Centre for Technology Studies — Innovation Challenge

The AI4D Innovation Scaling Challenge offers up to US$100 thousand in seed funding to scale AI solutions already deployed in real-world settings across Sub-Saharan Africa. The initiative supports innovations addressing climate action, agriculture, education, gender/disability inclusion, and inequality, and provides not only funding but also mentorship. Eligible applicants include individual researchers, startups, universities, and consortia based in countries such as Kenya, Nigeria, Uganda, South Africa, Ethiopia, Ghana, and others in the region. JPI Climate — Climate Services for Risk Reduction in West Africa

The Climate Services for Risk Reduction in West Africa (CS4RRA) aims to support interdisciplinary projects that enhance climate resilience across 16 West African countries. With funding of up to €2 million per project for durations of up to 36 months, the call targets initiatives that improve early warning systems, assess climate security risks, and integrate climate services into policy and financing mechanisms. Eligible consortia must include at least two institutions from different West African countries and one European partner, with the coordinator based in West Africa. Each year, the Africa Women Innovation & Entrepreneurship Forum Awards recognize Women Entrepreneurs and Business Owners in Africa for their economic performance and contribution to Africa’s growth and social development. There are 8 award categories, including agribusiness and renewable energy. Nominations should only be made relating to achievements made by a female entrepreneur and national of an African country. RELX Group — Environmental Challenge in Water and Sanitation 2025

The RELX Group sponsors the RELX Group Environmental Challenge to recognize projects worldwide that best demonstrate sustainable access to safe water and/or access to improved sanitation. The challenge is open to individuals and organizations (profit and non-profit). Projects must advance sustainable access to safe water where it is presently at risk, and/or access to improved sanitation. The first prize is US$50 thousand; second prize is US$25 thousand. Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund — Biodiversity Conservation in the Mediterranean Basin

The Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund (CEPF) invites Letters of Inquiry (LOIs) for small grants (up to US$40 thousand) for projects that support the sustainable management of water catchments through integrated approaches for the conservation of threatened freshwater biodiversity in the Mediterranean Basin.
