Lush Retail Inc. — Lush Prize 2018

The Lush Prize rewards initiatives across science and campaigning that work to end or replace animal testing. The prize consists of an annual fund of between £250 and £350 thousand. Projects and individuals working towards the goal of replacing animals in product or ingredient safety testing across five strategic areas (1) Lobbying, (2) Public Awareness, (3) Science (4) Training, and (5) Young Researcher are eligible to apply. tvebiomovies — Climate Change Video Competition for Africans

tvebiomovies invites African filmmakers to submit short 3 minute video diaries showing how groups and organisations are using technology to fight climate change. The top five videos will be awarded a prize of $US500 each. The top 20 ideas will be featured in a Case Study Library so other people can benefit from new technology and innovative ideas. Climate Smart Nigeria — #Write4Climate Essay Competition 2018

Climate Smart Nigeria, in partnership with Enercate Initiative launches an annual contest in commemoration of the World Earth Day. Young environmental enthusiasts from Africa are invited to submit projects and ideas towards ending plastic pollution. The winner will receive NGN 20 thousand to put his or her project into practice. Antipode Foundation — International Workshop Awards

The Antipode Foundation promotes scientific research, education and makes scholarships in the field of radical geography. The International Workshop Awards are intended to support geographers holding events (including conferences, workshops, seminars, summer schools and action research meetings) that further analyses of geographical issues and engender the development of a new and better society. Successful candidates receive up to £10 thousand (or its equivalent in the awardee’s currency of choice). Unilever — Young Entrepreneurs Awards 2018

The Unilever Young Entrepreneurs Awards invite nominations of individuals ages 18 to 35 anywhere in the world who have initiatives, products, or services that address sustainability challenges in four categories. The categories are “farm to table” (sustainable agriculture and food and drink nutrition); opportunities for women; waste management; and water management. The awards will be made to individuals who are putting their ideas into action, i.e., who are already having an impact. Unilever will recognise up to eight winners in 2018, each of whom will be awarded a cash prize in addition to one-to-one mentoring support for a year. The overall winner will receive the “HRH The Prince of Wales Young Sustainability Entrepreneur Prize” of €50 thousand. The deadline for nominations is 30 June 2018. Link

Alice and Global Entrepreneurship Network — Global Pitch Competition for Social Entrepreneurs

Alice and Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN), along with partners Johnson & Johnson and Dell, invites applications for Pitch with Purpose, a global pitch competition for social enterprises centered around solutions to the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Three finalists will be invited to pitch live in front of a panel of judges, funders and media in October 2018. United States Government — Science Prize for Women

The 2018 ASEAN-U.S. Science Prize for Women seeks to identify and recognize ASEAN-based, early to mid-career women who are using applied sciences to solve agricultural challenges. The top two finalists will be invited to compete in a pitch competition during an ASEAN Ministerial event in the Philippines in October 2018. The overall winner will receive $20 thousand. U.S. Agency for International Development — Accelerating Women Entrepreneurs

USAID accepts applications for the Accelerating Women Entrepreneurs prize. The prize provides acceleration services including investment readiness consulting, investor matchmaking support, and business analysis to women entrepreneurs. Projects may be focussing on various thematic areas around the main topic agriculture, including aquaculture/livestock, pest management, irrigation and water, and postharvest among others. Eligibility extends to women-owned or operated commercial enterprises in sub-Saharan Africa that provide services and projects to smallholder farmers. Applications must be submitted by 25 April 2018. Unitech International — Carbon Footprint Challenge 2018

The Carbon Footprint Challenge is open for ideas and solution to decrease carbon footprint of manufacturing, industrial processes as well as for products throughout their entire value chain. Monarch Butterfly Fund — Monarch Butterfly Migration Challenge

The Monarch Butterfly Fund (MBF) launches an international competition to find a tracking technology that can deliver important scientific insights. The fund offers a $50 thousand cash prize to the individual or team that can conceptualize and develop an innovative tagging and tracking system that can be easily implemented in current conservation and scientific research, allowing individual monarchs to be tracked during the migration.
