Ramsar Convention – Wetland Conservation Awards 2024

The Secretariat of the Ramsar Convention calls for nominations for the 9th edition of the Ramsar Wetland Conservation Awards. The awards recognize and honor the contributions of individuals, organizations, and governments around the world in promoting the conservation and wise use of wetlands. Award recipients will each receive the Evian Special Prize of US$10 thousand provided by Danone. Individuals and organizations of any nation or region can be nominated. International Centre for Advanced Mediterranean Agronomic Studies — Youth Innovation Award

The International Centre for Advanced Mediterranean Agronomic Studies (CIHEAM) invites applications for the Youth Innovation Award. CIHEAM will reward an innovative solution (scientific or entrepreneurship product/service) that contributes to the green and blue transition to improve human well-being and social equity while reducing environmental risks and ecological scarcities and contributing to zero climate impact. The selected awardee will receive a financial grant of €10 thousand. Applicants must be young Mediterranean, aged not more than 39 years. The deadline is 15 August 2024. Irish Aid — SDG Challenge 2024

The SDG Challenge invites research teams to develop innovative solutions that contribute to SDG 2: Zero Hunger, “End hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture”. Eligible partner countries are Cambodia; Laos; Palestine; Vietnam; ODA-eligible countries on the African continent; and ODA-eligible Small Island Developing States. Teams will receive up to €250 thousand to develop their idea. Workshop Support Grants of up to €5.000 are available to potential applicants to facilitate team formation and seed idea generation before applying. The application deadline is 08 October 2024. Wiki Loves Earth — Photography Competition Nigeria

Wiki Loves Earth is an international photography competition to promote natural heritage sites around the World through Wikimedia projects. In the fifth edition, photographers are invited to contribute free-licensed images of natural heritages in Nigeria. The best photos will receive prize money. European Journalism Centre — Climate Journalism Award

The Climate Journalism Award promotes and recognizes exceptional climate journalism that adopts an innovative or original storytelling approach, encouraging journalists to prioritize reporting on climate-related issues. Stories can be submitted in five categories and winners will each receive a cash prize of €2,400. The submitted piece must have been published in a European-based media outlet. Climatelinks — Photo Contest

The Climatelinks Photo Contest seeks submissions that show the breadth of issues, impacts, and solutions to climate change. The 2024 Photo Contest theme is “In Focus: Communities Confronting Climate Change.” Participants can submit up to 5 photos that show local communities addressing climate change across 14 categories. Enabel — Prize for Women Entrepreneurs

The Awa Prize highlights women entrepreneurs from Belgian development cooperation countries and their projects. The prize aims to promote women entrepreneurs in their local community and strengthen them in their entrepreneurial success. The winner receives €50 thousand in support of their enterprise and one week in Belgium. Participating countries for the 2024 edition: Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, DRC, Guinea, Ivory Coast, Jordan, Mali, Mauritania, Morocco, Mozambique, Niger, Palestine, Rwanda, Senegal, Tanzania, Tunisia, Uganda. TotalEnergies — Support for Young African Entrepreneurs

The Startupper Challenge by TotalEnergies supports young African entrepreneurs to innovate and bring their projects to reality in their country of application. Winners will receive financial support to develop their startup or business idea. Business owners of startups under 3 years old with a positive impact on their communities or the planet can participate. The challenge is open to young entrepreneurs between the ages of 18 and 35. European Climate Pact — Photo Competition

The European Climate Pact photo competition aims to showcase climate action. Photos should capture a climate-friendly daily routine, climate action, or a climate solution. The competition is open to everyone. 10 winners will receive an invite to the Climate Pact annual event in Brussels in 2025, with travel and accommodation covered.
