Elsevier Foundation — Chemistry for Climate Action Challenge

The Elsevier Foundation Green and Sustainable Chemistry Challenge is open to individuals and organizations whose projects use green and sustainable chemistry solutions to tackle climate change challenges. The Challenge aims to recognize the pivotal role women play in combating climate change, therefore, projects must take into consideration gender components. The winning projects will receive a prize of €25 thousand each. The Challenge is open to individuals and non-profit organizations. The deadline for submissions is 01 October 2025. Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations — World Food Day Poster Contest (Age 5-19)

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FOA) calls on children and teens from all over the world (ages 5 to 19) to use their imagination and create a poster of their water action for food. “Rights to foods” explores how we should all be able to enjoy nutritious food so that we can grow and live an active life. Winners will be promoted by FAO offices around the world and receive a surprise gift bag. Entries have to be submitted by 07 November 2025. Submit a poster

Lipman Family Prize — Funding for Social Change

Each year, the Lipman Family Prize awards cash to three social impact organizations – US$250 thousand for the winning organization and US$125 thousand for each of the two other honorees. The award recognizes and amplifies the work of organizations devoted to positive social impact and creating sustainable solutions to significant social and economic challenges. Past winners include projects in the field of improved sanitation, energy innovations, and micro-forestry. Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations — World Soil Day Award

The World Soil Day Award (WSDA) recognizes individuals and/or institutions that have made an effort to organize successful celebrations in the framework of the World Soil Day campaign of the previous year. The award consists of US$15 thousand and a trip to Thailand. The award is open to individuals, non-profit organizations, universities, and private companies. MDPI — Carbon Neutrality Award

MDPI, a publisher of peer-reviewed, open-access journals invites applications for the Carbon Neutrality Award. This prize will be given to applicants who have made outstanding academic or societal contributions to carbon neutrality in general or to a carbon-neutrality-relevant issue in particular.  The winner will each be awarded CHF1500. SmartCity Expo World Congress — World Smart City Awards

The World Smart City Awards recognize and support innovative city strategies, projects and ideas that can make an impact on citizens’ lives and turn our cities into better places to live. Proposals and projects from the following categories are eligible to apply: Enabling Technologies, Energy & Environment, Mobility, Governance & Economy, Living & Inclusion, Infrastructure & Buildings. International Federation of Inventors’ Associations — Regenerative Innovation Competition

The International Federation of Inventors’ Associations (IFIA) accepts applications for the prestigious Regenerative Innovation Competition. The initiative aims to unite visionaries from Latin America and the Caribbean, in an effort to generate breakthrough solutions in fields such as Renewable Energy and Urban Sustainability, among others. Participation is open to individuals aged 16 and above, including representatives of academic institutions, third-sector organizations, startups, and traditional businesses. Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie — Prize for Young Researchers

The Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF) recognizes work in Science & Technology and Human & Social Sciences, with a focus on diversity within the Francophone academic community, especially in developing countries. The prize offers grants of €5,000 to support the future research endeavors of the winners. Eligible candidates must be 40 years old or younger, hold a doctorate, and demonstrate significant and innovative research. Interested applicants must submit their nomination by 27 June 2025. European Journalism Centre — Journalism Science Alliance

The Journalism Science Alliance (JSA) grant program aims to foster investigative journalism grounded in scientific principles. This initiative provides grant funding, alongside training, mentoring, and networking opportunities, to cultivate collaboration between journalism and research institutions. The JSA offers grants of up to €50 thousand. The grants are open to collaborative projects involving at least one media outlet and one research or academic organization. Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World — OWSD-Elsevier Foundation Awards

The Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD) supports early-career women scientists in Sub-Saharan Africa and Least Developed Countries (LDCs) with doctoral fellowships in the natural sciences. The applicant must have received her PhD in a scientific discipline within the previous ten years and whose current scientific research is related to the area of water, sanitation, and hygiene. Five grantees receive a cash grant of US$5 thousand and an all-expenses-paid trip to attend a relevant international conference. Applicants should be qualified young women science graduates (generally below 40 years of age), who have an M.Sc. degree or outstanding B.Sc. in the natural sciences.
