The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) invites nominations for the ASEAN Prize 2023. The prize acknowledges ASEAN citizens or ASEAN-based organizations that have made outstanding contributions to ASEAN’s community building efforts. Africa Soft Power Project — Climate Change Photo Essay Prize
The Climate Change Photo Essay is open to young people aged 18 to 30 from Africa and its diaspora. Entrants are asked to submit a photo essay of three to five photographs that tell a cohesive story and address climate change in their communities. Friends of Ocean Action — Ocean Data Challenge
The Ocean Data Challenge calls for startups and social enterprises that use ocean data to boost ocean conservation and promote the sustainable blue economy. Solutions need to contribute to the sustainability and resilience of the Western Indian Ocean, aligning with the Great Blue Wall Initiative and delivering benefits to people and nature. Priority is given to companies or social enterprises with a sustainable funding model. Non-profit organizations with a revenue generating project may also be considered. The International Water Association calls for nominations for the Ardern-Lockett Award and the IWA MEWE Early- and Mid-Career Researcher Awards. The Ardern-Lockett award recognizes outstanding contributions to research and practice in the field of Microbial Ecology and Water Engineering. The Young One World Lead2030 Challenge for SDG 5 seeks female leaders playing a critical role driving economic growth and providing livelihoods for their communities. IBM — Global Water Management Solutions
IBM launches a request for proposals to help accelerate global water management solutions for vulnerable populations. IBM will support projects that can help improve access to safe drinking water for all, improve water quality by reducing pollution, increase water-use efficiency, protect and restore water-related ecosystems, increase sanitation management, and reduce the number of people suffering from water scarcity. Nonprofit and governmental organizations are eligible to apply. IBM provides organizations with credits for IBM Cloud and IBM Environmental Intelligence Suite Data APIs as well as technical mentorship to advance the initiative. United Nations Environment Program — Champions of the Earth 2023
The Champions of the Earth is the UN’s highest award to honor people and organizations worldwide for leadership and action on sustainable development, climate change, and a life of dignity. This year, UNEP seeks nominations of individuals, organizations, and governments working on sustainable solutions to eliminate plastic pollution. Persons may nominate themselves, their own organizations, or a third party whom they believe should receive recognition. Nominations must be supported by three endorsers.
