Voice — Innovate and Learn Grants
Voice Philippines opens the first Call for Proposals for the Innovate and Learn Grants. The call aim is to address issues and challenges in agriculture and fishing communities that impact local farmers and fishers. Awarded grants must focus on the defined themes and targets in the Philippines. Grants range from €5 thousand to €85 thousand for up to 6-12 months. The application deadline is 31 May 2019. Link
Climate Chance — Climate Chance Summit Africa 2019
Climate Chance opens the call for proposals for the Climate Chance Summit Africa 2019. The call is open to local authorities, businesses, NGOs, trade unions, scientists, representatives from agricultural, youth, women and indigenous organisations, educators and citizens. Initiatives corresponding to many themes will be considered: Access to climate finance in Africa; Developing African cities in a sustainable way; Agriculture, food and reforestation in Africa; Renewable energy and energy efficiency in Africa; Adaptation and Water in Africa; Education and Training on Climate Change in Africa; and others. Forest and Farm Facility — Call for Proposals 2019
The Forest and Farm Facility together with the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED), the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and AgriCord launched the call for proposals to support regional and global forest and farm producer organizations to enable climate resilient landscapes and improved livelihoods. There will be one grant for a regional organization based in Africa, one in Asia and one in Latin America. U.S. Department of State — YSEALI Academic Fellowship
The Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) is a program of the U.S. government to support bright young leaders in the ASEAN countries. The YSEALI Academic Fellowship offer support to participate in a five-week institute on the campus of a U.S. university or college in one of the following topics: civil engagement; environmental issues; or social entrepreneurship and economic development. The fellowships include leadership development, an educational study tour, local community service activities, and opportunities to engage with peers in the USA. Applications are invited from current full-time undergraduate students citizen of Vietnam aged between 18 and 25 years. Application deadline is 02 June 2019. Link
RMTI University — Scholarships 2019
The RMTI University offers scholarships for international students undertaking a degree at the University’s College of Science, Engineering and Health. Courses in the Science department include environmental science, food science, biological sciences, among others. Eligible candidates must be citizens of Indonesia, Malaysia or Singapore that achieve a minimum of 70% average in their highest level of education award. Unilever — Young Entrepreneurs Awards 2019
The Unilever Young Entrepreneurs Awards invite nominations of individuals ages 18 to 35 anywhere in the world who have initiatives, products, or services that address sustainability challenges in three categories. The categories are ‘improve people’s health and well-being’; ‘improve the health of the planet’; and ‘contribute to a fairer and more socially inclusive world’. Unilever will recognise up to eight winners in 2019, each of whom will be awarded a cash prize in addition to one-to-one mentoring support for a year. The overall winner will receive the “HRH The Prince of Wales Young Sustainability Entrepreneur Prize” of €50 thousand, the remaining winners will each receive a €8.5 thousand cash award. Australian Center for International Agricultural Research — John Dillon Fellowships
ACIAR awards the John Dillon Fellowships to agricultural scientists or economists from our partner countries and Australia. The fellowships aim to support the professional development of outstanding mid-career agricultural scientists, economists and researchers. Key features of the program are: a 4-6 week residential stay in Australia, a 1-week hosting period with an Australian organisation, formal training, program of visits to engage with various Australian institutions, and exposure to relevant researchers, industry experts and professionals. The Forum for Agricultural Research in Africa (FARA) invites applications for funding support for innovation platforms, agribusinesses and other multi-stakeholder platforms to scale agricultural technologies in Africa. US Department of Agriculture — Conservation Innovation Grants
The US Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) announced the Conservation Innovation Grant (CIG) to stimulate the development and adoption of conservation approaches and technologies towards soil and grazing land health, and water quality. Eligibility extends to non-federal entities (NFE) and individuals for projects carried out in the Pacific Islands Area locations including the state of Hawaii, Guam, American Samoa and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands.
