Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture — Scholarship Program for Global Agriculture Technology and Genomic Science

The NTU-SEARCA Joint Scholarship Program for Global Agriculture Technology and Genomic Science (Global ATGS) accepts applications for a Master Program at the National Taiwan University (NTU). The goal of Global ATGS is to train international academic and industrial leaders in advanced agriculture. The main fields of this program are digital agriculture, genomics, and modern breeding science. The scholarship award duration is two years and covers tuition fees, travel, and living expenses of students from SEAMEO member countries. The deadline is 31 December 2021. Link

Breakthrough Institute — Generation Fellowship 2022

The Breakthrough Institute supports Generation Fellows who contribute writing and research to one of four policy programs at the Breakthrough Institute: Energy; Conservation; or Food and Farming. The program operates during ten weeks from June through August. Fellows receive US$600 per week. Eligibility to apply for the fellowships extends to final-year undergraduates, college graduates, and postgraduates. Fellowships are open to applicants from any country. Cisco — Global Problem Solver Challenge 2022

Cisco invites submissions of innovative technology solutions from student entrepreneurs around the world that solve the world’s most pressing social and environmental problems. The Challenge is open to students and recent alumni from any college or university. A total of US$1 million in prize money will be awarded for the adoption and development of breakthrough technologies, products, and services that drive economic development or solve social and environmental problems. University of Applied Sciences Western Switzerland — Research Partnership Grants MENA

The Research Partnership Grants support research projects with collaborating institutions in MENA countries. The Leading House MENA accepts grant applications solely from applicants. The Swiss applicant needs to have a proposed or an ongoing research project with an institutional partner in the MENA region. The maximum grant amount per project is CHF15 thousand. Both the applicant and the partner institute abroad are required to make in-kind contributions to the proposed research project. British Council — Newton Fund Institutional Links ASEAN

The UK-ASEAN Institutional Links Early Career Researchers (ILECR) Scheme provides seed funding to senior researchers from higher education institutions in the UK and partner countries – Brunei, Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand. Subject areas for the collaborative research include local development challenges such as agritech and biodiversity, among others. Proposals are submitted jointly by a principal investigator in the UK with a principal investigator in a partner country. Grants are up to £50 thousand over 12 months. Zurich University of Applied Sciences — Research Partnership Grants South Asia and Iran

The Research Partnership Grants support research projects with collaborating institutions in Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Iran, the Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. The Leading House South Asia and Iran accepts grant applications solely from applicants. The Swiss applicant needs to have a proposed or an ongoing research project with an institutional partner in South Asia or Iran. The maximum grant amount per project is CHF35 thousand. Government of India — India Philippines Joint Research Program

The Governments of India and the Philippines invite joint research projects by researchers of both countries. The aim is to encourage scientific and technological cooperation between the two countries. Proposals for joint research in agriculture are eligible. European Commission — Food and Nutrition Security in Africa

The European Commission (EC) accepts proposals to improve food security and nutrition in African cities. Projects are expected to contribute to a shift to food security and improved nutrition in five African cities and reducing the food-system-related environmental footprint. Applicants must be established in a Member State of the European Union, countries associated with Horizon Europe, or low- and middle-income countries. The European Commission (EC) accepts proposals for the Agro-ecological Approaches in African Agriculture Systems Grant Program. The implementation of agro-ecological approaches will alleviate the pressure that agri-food production places on natural ecosystems, contributing to resilience of agri-food systems. Applicants must be established in a Member State of the European Union, countries associated with Horizon Europe, or low- and middle-income countries. UNDP Africa — Sahel Innovate Challenge

The United Nations Development Programme in Africa (UNDP Africa) seeks youth from the Sahel Region willing to pitch their innovative solutions to a panel of judges at the YouthConnekt Sahel Forum. UNDP Africa is interested in innovative ideas from a broad range of topics, including agroforestry and climate change mitigation/adaptation, driving the region’s transformation. Participants have to be 35 or younger and be a national of Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Chad, The Gambia, Guinea, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Nigeria, or Senegal.
