ACIAR awards the John Dillon Fellowships to agricultural scientists or economists from our partner countries and Australia. The fellowships aim to support the professional development of outstanding mid-career agricultural scientists, economists and researchers. Key features of the program are: a 4-6 week residential stay in Australia, a 1-week hosting period with an Australian organisation, formal training, program of visits to engage with various Australian institutions, and exposure to relevant researchers, industry experts and professionals. Forum for Agricultural Research in Africa — Call for Funding
The Forum for Agricultural Research in Africa (FARA) invites applications for funding support for innovation platforms, agribusinesses and other multi-stakeholder platforms to scale agricultural technologies in Africa. The call aims to provide support to existing or new innovation platforms, agribusinesses and other multi-stakeholders platforms. Proposals must include youth and woman. US Department of Agriculture — Conservation Innovation Grants
The US Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) announced the Conservation Innovation Grant (CIG) to stimulate the development and adoption of conservation approaches and technologies towards soil and grazing land health, and water quality. Eligibility extends to non-federal entities (NFE) and individuals for projects carried out in the Pacific Islands Area locations including the state of Hawaii, Guam, American Samoa and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands. US Department of Labor — Equal Access to Quality Jobs for Women and Girls in Agriculture
The US Department of Labor announces the fund (EQUAL) to assist projects in Colombia that economically empower vulnerable women and girls in agriculture. The project must work within the agricultural sector in sugarcane, including unrefined brown sugar, and in cut flowers around specific geographical areas in Colombia. US and Non-US based organisations are eligible to apply to a maximum of US$5 million total costs in the form of a cooperative agreement. The deadline for applications is 19 July 2019. More info
ETH Zurich — World Food System Grants 2019
ETH Zurich makes competitive grants in two programs sponsored by its World Food System Center. They are: (i) Sustainability in Food Value Chains (Cooperative Research Program); and (ii) Organic Production Systems for Food Security (Mercator Research Program). Principal Investigators must be current members of the World Food System Center. Co-applicants can be from other research institutions in Switzerland or other countries. Indo-US Science and Technology Forum — Indo-U.S. Fellowship for Women
The IUSSTF invites Indian Women Scientists, Engineers & Technologists to apply for the “Indo-U.S. Fellowship for Women in STEMM” (2nd Batch) to undertake international collaborative research in the USA. The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), the specialised UN agency, funds journalists from around Africa to attend the workshop ‘Reporting Rural Poverty and Agricultural Development’. The programme aim is to enable journalists to tell the story of rural development. Participants will have the opportunity to attend the African Green Revolution Forum (AGRF) in Kigali in September 2019. Eligibility extends to full-time journalists from across Africa. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) offers grants to foreign citizens and Italian citizens living abroad for the academic year 2019-2020 in order to foster international cultural, scientific and technological cooperation. Grants are offered to pursue study, training, and/or research programs at Italian Higher Education Institutes. U.S. Department of State — Economic Development in the Middle East
The MEPI Local Grants Program seeks proposals that support inclusive economic growth in the Western Sahara by improving local economic opportunities. Proposals should develop and implementing locally-designed solutions to environmental, economic, or social problems or promote inclusive economic growth that reaches marginalized communities. Pulitzer Center — Data Journalism and Property Rights Grants
The Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting provides travel grants to cover hard costs associated with upcoming travel for an international reporting project. The Pulitzer Center seeks applications for data-driven journalism projects related to land rights and property rights. Projects may focus on issues related to indigenous land rights due to the exploration of natural resources, among many other themes. Most awards fall in the range of US$5-15 thousand.
