The GBEP Youth Award recognizes research conducted by students in the field of bioenergy. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to present their research and receive their award certificate during the GBEP Bioenergy Week. Applicants should be within the age limit of 30 years old for bachelor and Master students, and 35 years old for Ph.D. students. This year, the 2025 Award is focused exclusively on Africa. The Ban Ki-moon Centre for Global Citizens (BKMC) launches the Future in Green Jobs Mentorship Program. Participants will have access to two workshops and receive tailored mentorship from green job practitioners and experts. The Youth Impact: Because You Matter initiative seeks to support young people to help their communities through climate action and environmental sustainability initiatives, by providing them with resources and skills necessary to implement their innovative projects. Project leaders worldwide will receive US$ 8,500 each and one-to-one mentorship to implement their projects. Project proposals can be submitted until 08 April 2025. Details

The Catalyst Fund supports early-stage tech startups that are developing solutions for climate adaptation and resilience in Africa. Startups receive US$150 thousand in investment and An additional US$50 thousand worth of tailored venture-building assistance. Eligibility extends to companies developing technology solutions aimed at climate adaptation and resilience serving populations within Africa. Startups that are interested in partnering with the Catalyst Fund can submit a project pitch. Link

The Foundation’s China Sustainable Energy Program makes grants for planning, policies, research, and training to improve energy efficiency and to reduce air pollution and carbon emissions in China. Grant eligibility extends to organizations in China and the USA. They include research institutes and foundations; universities; professional organizations, societies, and academies; energy technology centers; policy groups and think tanks; state-owned energy companies; regulatory agencies; and NGOs. The AWS Compute for Climate Fellowship supports startups and innovators using cloud computing to develop scalable climate solutions. The program provides selected fellows with up to US$100 thousand in AWS credits, technical mentorship, and access to AWS experts to accelerate their projects in areas such as climate modeling, carbon tracking, and sustainable technology. Applicants should be early-stage founders or researchers leveraging cloud computing for climate impact. The fellowship is open to global participants. The 776 Fellowship is a two-year, full-time program. Fellows will receive a US$100 thousand grant over two years to work on projects to fight climate change instead of pursuing a university degree. Fellows must be ages 18 to 24 and can live anywhere in the world. Fellows will have access to founder networks, various programming, and access to a venture fund’s operating system. The Young Energy Ambassadors (YEA) program offers individuals aged 18 to 35 the opportunity to engage in EU energy policy making and promote a clean, fair energy transition. Ambassadors will participate in the European Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW) from June 10-12, 2025, and contribute to the European Youth Energy Day. The year-long mandate includes mentorship, workshops, policy dialogues, and media features. The CarbonCapture Startup Challenge is a three-month virtual program designed to support early-stage startups developing innovative solutions in Direct Air Capture (DAC), Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS), and downstream applications within the carbon dioxide value chain. Selected startups will receive €15 thousand in funding, mentorship from Bosch experts, and access to a global network of industry professionals and investors. Eligible applicants are early-stage tech startups in the pre-seed to seed stage, comprising teams of 2-4 members with diverse skill sets, and must be registered legal entities. Homeworld Collective invites applications for its 2025 Garden Grants program, aimed at funding early-stage projects that integrate biotechnology with greenhouse gas removal strategies.
