The SMAIAS is an Independent Research Organisation which seeks to influence land and natural resources policies in Africa through multi-disciplinary science research, policy dialogues, and training. The Small Research Grants program is intended to support research projects with budgets of US$2,500 for dissertation writing. Eligibility extends to emerging young African scholars from agriculture and other related professional fields whose research is aimed at helping to inform policies and practices that improve the lives of marginalised groups who depend on agriculture as a source of their livelihoods. Uganda Martyrs University in conjunction with African Center for Agro-Ecology and Livelihood Systems (ACALISE) invites applications for PhD and MSc ACALISE National/International Scholarships. Programmes include PhD in Agro-Ecology and Livelihood Systems, MSc in Agro-Ecology, and others. Applicants must be citizens of a country in Sub-Saharan Africa who are currently enrolled on any of the ACALISE Programmes. UK organisations can apply to work with Colombian partners on innovative agricultural solutions in Colombia. Subject areas are new technologies and innovations in the Colombian agriculture sector, particularly by female smallholder farmers. Early-stage awards range from £150 thousand to £500 thousand for up to 18 months. Late-stage awards range from £200 thousand to £800 thousand.
