The ’Project-based Personnel Exchange Program’ (PPP) is a bilateral research promotion program to strengthen the collaboration between Indian and German research groups, which are working jointly on a particular scientific project. Financial support is available to support exchange visits to the partner institution and short term stays of scientists and doctoral students. The program is open to academics in the disciplines of agricultural sciences, veterinary medicine, forestry, medicine, life sciences, animal sciences, and others. University professors, scientists/researchers and post-doctoral researchers from German and Indian universities and those in permanent positions at public funded research institutes are eligible to apply. The InsuResilience Solutions Fund (ISF) seeks projects with a holistic approach on disaster relief and preparedness. The Fund will support the development of new climate risk insurance products or the scaling-up of already existing products with the aim to increase the resilience of poor and vulnerable people in developing countries to climate change. ISF provides grant-based co-funding of up to €2.5 million, but requires matching the grant funding (in-kind and/or as a financial contribution). Acumen, with funding from the Rockefeller Foundation, invites students from all around the world to submit innovative solutions to tackle the greatest food systems challenges. The Rockefeller Foundation-Acumen Food Systems Fellowship is an intensive, one-year leadership development program for food systems leaders who are creating more inclusive, nourishing and regenerative food systems. Eligibility extends to individuals who demonstrate experience in building inclusive food systems. The Remittance Innovation Champions 2022 South Africa finances private sector initiatives that develop innovative and cost-effective international remittance services for marginalized populations, particularly women and the rural poor. Grants range from  €150 thousand to €300 thousand. IFAD welcomes strategic partnerships linking for-profit entities with non-profit organizations. Deadline for submissions is 07 October 2022. The Global Landscapes Forum (GLFx) provides seed funding to protect and restore forest areas in Africa. Applications run through GLF chapters, groups of local change agents that mobilize their communities and stakeholders to promote sustainable landscape restoration. Selected chapters will receive a seed fund of €5 thousand to run chapter activities such as community training, workshops and toolkits to facilitate the implementation of community action plans. The Climate-Smart Agriculture Challenge seeks to identify and support innovators who are driving the global transformation to climate-smart agriculture practices. Winners will receive up to US$100 thousand in funding to develop a proof of concept and will be considered for investment from Shell Ventures. The Garden Club of America (GCA) offers several grants, prizes, and fellowships for students enrolled at universities in the USA, including some awards that have a tropical focus. The GCA Awards in Tropical Botany are open to PhD candidates (application deadline is 15 January). The Anne Chatham Fellowship in Medicinal Botany is open to PhD students and recent PhD graduates (deadline is 31 January). The Lou McCandless Marks Scholarship in Tropical Horticulture is restricted to U.S. citizens who are graduate students or advanced undergraduate students (deadline is 01 February). The Youth Consortium launches a call for applications to identify a champion in Nutrition. The challenge is open to African early-career professionals (under 35 years) who work along the value chains of Agro-Food Systems or expertise in Agriculture, Food and Nutrition Security. The winner receives US$1,000 and a fully funded trip to the main event “Africa Day for Food and Nutrition Security 2022”. The deadline for submitting complete applications is 26 September 2022. The Greater Mekong Subregion Secretariat invites applications for demonstration pilots of innovative technologies to supply safe and climate-friendly agri-food products in Cambodia, China, Lao PDR, Thailand and Vietnam. Proposed demonstration projects should not exceed US$100 thousand. Government departments, civil society organizations, private companies, universities and research institutes can apply. The European Commission seeks to contribute to green and inclusive economic growth in the Lao PDR by reinforcing the technical capacities of local civil society organizations to promote Climate Smart Agriculture with a special focus on youth and women. Project partners should prioritize the most vulnerable segments of the populations i.e. women, urban poor, low-income households, farmers, unemployed youth etc. Applicants may request up to €1.5 million for their action plans.
