The Africa Oxford Initiative (AfOx) offers seven graduate scholarships for the 2026-27 MBA program at the University of Oxford. Scholarships are available for applicants who are African nationals, and who can demonstrate a commitment to Africa’s development. The Wildlife Emergency Fund (WEF) is a small grant program that provides emergency funding of up to US$2,500 to address severe and time-sensitive threats to wildlife. Research and awareness/outreach/education programs will not be considered for WEF. Support is intended for short-term emergency action. Water Witness International — Fair Water Action Fund
The Fair Water Action Fund supports civil society organizations, journalists, and researchers in the Global South—especially in Africa—to promote water justice and hold governments and corporations accountable for water security. Grants range from £3,000 to £36,000 for projects up to 12 months that focus on advocacy, community monitoring, investigative reporting, and systemic change. Eligible applicants include grassroots networks, NGOs, academic centers, and independent media. Priority is given to countries facing water scarcity and governance challenges. Earth Journalism Network — Virtual Training for Journalists Reporting
The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) offers a four-day virtual workshop aimed at business and finance journalists from Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, and Thailand to strengthen their climate-focused reporting on corporate accountability, green finance, and sustainable solutions. The training covers net-zero strategies, greenwashing detection, inclusive transitions, and more, and includes an opportunity to apply for a story grant post-workshop. It’s open to journalists working in any medium (print, online, TV, radio), with preference given to women, rural, Indigenous, early- and mid-career professionals. The Nature Conservancy — Mangrove-Positive Businesses Funding
The Nature Conservancy supports scalable, nature-positive business models that incentivize the conservation of mangroves, seagrasses, and tidal marshes. The 2025 call focuses on four high-impact value chains: integrated mud crab aquaculture, sustainable shrimp farming, nutraceutical products from mangroves, and Nypa palm-based goods such as sugar, vinegar, and biodegradable crafts. Up to US$1.25 million in total funding and technical assistance will be allocated to around five selected partners.
