Turing Foundation — Grants for Marine Ecosystems

The Turing Foundation is committed to supporting biodiversity—especially marine and coastal ecosystems like mangroves, seagrass, and coral reefs. Projects supported include protection of marine nursery habitats and climate-focused nature conservation efforts. Most grants are to Dutch and international organizations that work with local partners. Turing does not accept unsolicited applications, but it invites brief project summaries. More information

Charles Hayward Foundation — Livelihoods Support in Africa

The Charles Hayward Foundation funds charitable programs and projects that improve the livelihoods of disadvantaged communities in the Commonwealth countries of Africa. The Foundation accepts applications from UK charities. Projects should focus at the grassroots level with proven local partners. Categories for support include water and sanitation; capacity building in agriculture and income-generating activities; and health. Grants are up to £15 thousand. Applications for main grants are considered on a quarterly basis. There is no calendar deadline. Link

Fund for Innovation in Development — Grant Program

The Fund for Innovation in Development (FID) supports innovation that contributes to reducing global poverty and inequality. FID encourages applications for solutions in education, health, climate change, and gender equality in all low- and middle-income countries. Nearly any type of applicant is eligible to apply, including researchers, governments, NGOs, and for-profit companies. FID makes five types of grants: Prepare Grants (up to €50 thousand) can be used to support the development of projects and proposals; Pilot Grants (up to €200 thousand) support the piloting of innovations that are early in development and need real-world testing; Scale Grants (up to €1,5 million) support the further testing and continued growth of innovations; Transition to Scale Grants (up to €4 million) support the transition of rigorously tested and validated solutions to widespread scaling; and Transforming Public Policy Grants (up to €150 thousand) support specific evidence-based innovations with demonstrated cost-effectiveness and scalability into public policies. IHE Delft offers free online courses on various water topics on its OCW Platform. Available courses include Biological Wastewater Treatment, Spate Irrigation Systems, and Ecological Sanitation, among others. Canada Fund for Local Initiatives — Community Projects in Haiti

The Canada Fund for Local Initiatives invites proposals that meet the needs of local communities in Haiti. The priorities under this call include women’s economic rights, decent jobs and entrepreneurship, and investing in the poorest and most vulnerable (which may include agriculture or aquaculture projects). The average contribution is C$25 thousand to C$50 thousand per project. Eligibility extends to local community organizations, non-profit organizations, and academic institutions. SmartCity Expo World Congress — World Smart City Awards

The World Smart City Awards recognize and support innovative city strategies, projects and ideas that can make an impact on citizens’ lives and turn our cities into better places to live. Proposals and projects from the following categories are eligible to apply: Enabling Technologies, Energy & Environment, Mobility, Governance & Economy, Living & Inclusion, Infrastructure & Buildings. Earth Journalism Network — Workshop on Renewable Energy

The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) invites communicators to join a workshop on renewable energy. The workshop sessions are designed to strengthen the skills of communicators to explore relatively under-reported renewable energy issues in India. Communicators based anywhere in India are eligible. The organizers will cover the cost of travel, accommodation and meals of selected participants. The application deadline is 30 June 2025. Canada Fund for Local Initiatives — Community Projects in China

The Canada Fund for Local Initiatives supports small-scale, high-impact projects in China. The priorities under this call include environment and climate action focusing on adaptation and mitigation, as well as on water management. The average contribution is C$10 thousand to C$40 thousand per project. Eligibility extends to local community organizations, non-profit organizations, and academic institutions. Simavi — Water Justice Fund

The Water Justice Fund supports advocacy, campaigns, learning, and evidence-based research to advance water justice and climate resilience with a feminist approach in Kenya, Bangladesh, and Nepal. Individual grants are up to €5 thousand per year. Organizational grants (organizations, networks, collectives) are up to €10 thousand per year. The fund is open to organizations, networks, collectives, and individuals based in Kenya, Bangladesh, or Nepal. Applications have to be submitted by 04 July 2025. Water Justice Fund

Women and Gender Constituency — Gender Just Climate Solutions Award 2025

The Women & Gender Constituency invites applications for the Gender Just Climate Solutions Awards. The awards aim to showcase real solutions for a more just, equal, and healthy planet, such as non-technical climate solutions, technical climate solutions, and transformational climate initiatives with a women or gender perspective. Three winners will each receive € 5,000 and a chance to attend the COPs. All types of activist, grassroots, and women-led organizations working on issues related to climate change from all over the world are encouraged to apply.
