US Department of Agriculture — Conservation Innovation Grants
The US Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) announced the Conservation Innovation Grant (CIG) to stimulate the development and adoption of conservation approaches and technologies towards soil and grazing land health, and water quality. Eligibility extends to non-federal entities (NFE) and individuals for projects carried out in the Pacific Islands Area locations including the state of Hawaii, Guam, American Samoa and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands. US Department of Labor — Equal Access to Quality Jobs for Women and Girls in Agriculture
The US Department of Labor announces the fund (EQUAL) to assist projects in Colombia that economically empower vulnerable women and girls in agriculture. The project must work within the agricultural sector in sugarcane, including unrefined brown sugar, and in cut flowers around specific geographical areas in Colombia. US and Non-US based organisations are eligible to apply to a maximum of US$5 million total costs in the form of a cooperative agreement. The deadline for applications is 19 July 2019. More info

Samsung Engineering jointly with UN Environment launches the 12th Eco-generation Environmental Essay Competition inviting the youth all over the world to raise awareness on the theme “Beat Air Pollution”. The competition aims to collect inspiring and creative ideas on why we should reduce air pollution with regards to its causes, effects, and consequences. UCL supports interdisciplinary research on themes relating to one or more of the Nahrein Network’s five aims through the Research Grant Awards program. Overarching aims of the program are related to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (water and land). Two types of funding are offered: small grants (up to £30 thousand) for projects led by Iraqi researchers, or collaborations between Iraqi and UK researchers; and large grants (up to £100 thousand) for collaborations between Iraqi, Lebanese or Turkish and UK researchers. International Union for Conservation of Nature — Call for Proposals: Reduce Plastic Leakage into the Ocean
IUCN announces the call for proposals to reduce plastic leakage into the ocean. The overall aim is to enhance plastic leakage reduction or avoidance, reducing plastic leaking into the marine environment as part of the Marine Plastics and Coastal Communities (MARPLASTICCs) project. Target countries are Kenya, Mozambique, South Africa, Thailand and Vietnam. IUCN will provide financial support of up to US$50 thousand in each target country for a period of 12 months. The Hong Kong Bird Watching Society invites applications for the Asia Conservation Fund 2019/20. The HKBWS funds research, monitoring, education and capacity building related to bird protection in Asia. Higher priority is given to projects which target species that occur in Hong Kong or on the East Asian and Australasian Flyway; and to projects that assist the relevant country in meeting Aichi Biodiversity Targets.
