The Canada Fund for Local Initiatives invites proposals that meet the needs of local communities in Guyana. The priorities include one on environment and climate action focusing on adaptation and mitigation, as well as on water management. The average contribution is expected to be C$20 thousand per project. Larger projects may be considered on an exceptional basis. Royal Institute of International Affairs — Richard and Susan Hayden Academy Fellowship

Chatham House, the Royal Institute of International Affairs, offers academy fellowships to international leaders. Applicants are recommended to consider existing research programmes that include climate change and the incorporation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by international organizations. The fellowship is aimed at mid-career professionals from academia, NGOs, business, government departments, civil society or the media. The fellowship is open to candidates worldwide. Khalifa University of Science and Technology — Graduate Scholarships 2019

Khalifa University of Science and Technology offers Graduate Research/ Teaching Assistant (GRTA) scholarships to support students enrolled in one of the graduate programs. The University offers a wide range of programs in different subject areas including water and environmental engineering, science and technology degrees. International students are particularly encouraged to apply. The scholarship includes the full coverage of tuition fees, medical insurance, support for conference attendance and a monthly stipend. European Commission — Youth Participation to Tackle Climate Change in Egypt

The European Commission aims to increase the participation of Egyptian CSOs in climate change mitigation and adaptation efforts. One of the priorities under this call is promoting the participation of youth in climate change mitigation and adaptation (circular economy, small scale renewable energy projects, water management, solid waste management etc.). Grants requested under this call for proposals must fall between €450 thousand and €1 million. Eligibility extends to non-profit organizations registered in Egypt or the European Union. The European Commission seeks to support small-scale and innovative actions by Rwandan CSOs in the field of human rights and democracy. One of the priorities under this call is tackling climate change and mitigating its adverse effects. Grants requested under this call for proposals must fall between €300 thousand and €550 thousand. European Commission — Solving Conflicts over Natural Resources in Kenya

The European Commission to strengthen the capacity of civil society organisations in Kenya in addressing the conflicts revolving around land tenure and access to natural resource. The following activities will be supported under this call: capacity building, land mediation initiatives involving local communities, projects of women’s and youth organisation, research, awareness raising and advocacy activities. Grants requested under this call for proposals must fall between €500 thousand and €1 million. Eligibility extends to non-profit organizations registered in anywhere in the world. U.S. Mission to South Africa — Reducing Demand for Wildlife

The U.S. Embassy South Africa invites organizations to submit applications to carry out a public marketing campaign for audiences in South Africa for illicit wildlife products (rhino horn, elephant ivory, pangolins, vultures, and other trafficked flora and fauna). The campaign should focus on the historic South African cultural and natural heritage value of these threatened/endangered species as shown through literature, song, art, storytelling, etc. A Grant of US$30 thousand is available under this call. U.S. Department of State — Go Green on Campuses and in Surrounding Communities

The U.S. Department of State announces an exchange program between South African and American undergraduate students and nearby youth community leaders. The program provides grants to projects with the aim to organize sessions on aspects of environmental preservation/conservation and help participants to develop a plan to implement a conservation/environmental preservation plan on their campuses and in their communities. Japan Foundation Center for Global Partnership — Abe Fellowships 2019

The Abe Fellowship encourages international research in the social sciences and related disciplines on topics of pressing global concern — including climate change, sustainable urbanization, environmental degradation, and other cross-cutting issues that advance global problem solving from a transnational perspective. The fellowship program is open to citizens of Japan and the USA, as well as to nationals of other countries who can demonstrate serious long-term affiliations with research communities in Japan or the USA. Stockholm International Water Institute — Stockholm Junior Water Prize 2020

Each year, the Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI) co-operates with a national organisation that arranges a national Stockholm Junior Water Prize (SJWP) competition. SJWP is open for projects striving to improve water quality, water resources management, water protection, water and wastewater treatment. The competition is open to young people between the ages of 15 and 20. The winner receives US$15 thousand, a crystal sculpture, a diploma as well as the stay in Stockholm during the World Water Week.
