International Fund for Agricultural Development — Access to Improved Seeds in Central Africa

The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) seeks to increase smallholder farmer productivity and income through access to improved seeds and improved PPP in Central Africa. IFAD will provide a three-year grant for the total amount of up to US$3 million. The project is expected to enhance reliable access of smallholder farmers to quality cassava planting material and maize seed of at affordable prices. Invest2Impact — Access to Funding for Women-led Businesses

The Invest2Impact Competition seeks to support 100 women-led businesses in East Africa with funding, mentoring and networking opportunities. The competition will award US$20 thousand to a business that is working to address climate change and promote a green economy, among three other categories. The competition is open to women entrepreneurs and small and medium-size women-led businesses from Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda. Applications have to be submitted by 20 September 2019. United States Agency for International Development — Small Grants for Disaster Risk Reduction in Latin America

The Regional Disaster Assistance Program (RDAP) accepts applications for its Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) Small Grants Program. The goal of the program is to increase the capacity of local and national authorities in the region to prepare for and respond to disasters. For that reason, RDAP intends to award projects valued between US$15 thousand and US$ 50 thousand. Organizations eligible to apply include local non-governmental organizations and local universities. Blue Earth Alliance — Photography Projects

Blue Earth supports photography projects that educate the public about threatened cultures, endangered environments, and other social concerns through fiscal sponsorship. Blue Earth provides assistance with fundraising, publishing, and publicity. However, it does not make cash grants to sponsored projects. The next deadline for proposals is 20 January 2020. Forest Foundation Philippines — Forest Conservation in the Philippines

The Forest Foundation Philippines supports activities that foster the protection and sustainable management of forests in the Philippines. Proposed projects should contribute to the protection and sustainable management of forests and biodiversity. Grants may be used for scientific research, piloting forest management strategies in small islands ecosystems (includes Indigenous and Community Conserved Areas and Locally Conserved Areas), mangrove rehabilitation, or plant nurseries. Proponents may apply for small (Php 500 thousand), medium (Php 4 million) or large grants (Php 24 million). Individuals, groups and organizations are eligible to apply. Pura Vida Conservation seeks to improve the productivity and health of natural lands throughout the Americas. The Douglas Tweedale Memorial Fellowship will be awarded to two Latin American journalists who seek to improve their environmental reporting skills. The two-week professional program will take place in Lima (Peru). Participants will have appointments with area investigative journalists, environmental experts, and short embeds with media outlets specializing in environmental coverage. Pride Lion Conservation Alliance and Colorado State University offer a special training as part of Pathways Africa 2020: Human Dimensions of Wildlife Conference and Training (February 2020). The 3-day training workshop is aimed at women conservationists to help strengthen their leadership skills to achieve greater conservation outcomes across Africa. Successful applicants will have their accommodation, meals, and conference registration fully funded. Additional stipends will be available for travel expenses up to US$500. UN-Habitat calls for innovative solutions and best practices that transform waste to wealth. U.S. Department of State — Mapping Illicit Supply Networks to Combat Conservation Crimes

The U.S. Department of State announces the Notice of Funding Opportunity for “Mapping Illicit Supply Networks to Combat Conservation Crimes at their Convergence” with the aim to gather data and build capacity to identify the illegal and illicit supply networks associated with conservation crimes in the Mekong region. OES intends to issue up to US$1,086,250 in total funding. The program will focus on Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, and Vietnam.
