Swedish International Development Agency — Training Course: Sustainable Urban Water and Sanitation in South Asia

Sida funds short-term training in selected development topics for participants from developing countries. Organizations in Bangladesh, Cambodia, Lao, Myanmar, and Nepal are invited to nominate candidates for the Advanced International Training Programme ‘Sustainable Urban Water and Sanitation – Integrated Processes.’ Candidates representing government organisations, private companies, universities, or NGOs at national, regional or local level are encouraged to apply. The training will be provided in two parts: part 1 in Sweden, and part 2 in Nepal. Sida will cover the costs of the program fee and required literature as well as accommodation, meals, health insurance, and international travel. The closing date for nominations is 26 April 2020. Regional Studies Association — Travel Grants

The Regional Studies Association (RSA) covers issues in the fields of climate change, energy, migration, and economic development. RSA makes travel grants of up to £500 to its members to present their work, network and participate in non-RSA events. (Note: non-members are encouraged to apply and join RSA). Grants have no geographical limitation. Applications are accepted twice a year. The deadlines for travel grant applications are 29 May and 30 November 2021. Link to travel grants

Regional Studies Association — Research Network Grant

The Regional Studies Association (RSA) covers issues in the fields of climate change, energy, migration, and economic development. RSA makes grants to researchers interested in establishing networks for research collaboration. The maximum funding is £10 thousand for newly established networks; and £7,500 for renewing networks. A research network must be organised and managed by active RSA members. Networks are typically made up of individuals from different countries, without any geographical limitation. U.S. Agency for International Development — WASH Capacity Building Grant Nigeria

The USAID Effective Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (E -WASH) Program seeks partners in Nigeria to support organizational development and to build technical capacity in urban WASH for civil society organizations and water utilities. Applicants should propose a program that will support organizational development and technical capacity strengthening of civil society organizations and federal ministry of water resources and state water utilities. USAID expects to make six awards. The funding amount for each award is up to US$100 thousand for a period of one year. Asia New Zealand Foundation — Capacity Building for Agribusiness Entrepreneurs

The Asia New Zealand Foundation and the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs offer young Southeast Asian agribusiness entrepreneurs the opportunity to visit New Zealand. Applicants will learn about the New Zealand agriculture business environment, meet and network with entrepreneurs and business leaders, and attend New Zealand’s leading agribusiness event, Fieldays. Applicants must be entrepreneurs or business leaders at CEO or senior management level involved in agriculture from an ASEAN country. The Asia New Zealand Foundation will cover the costs of participating in the capacity building program (airfare, accommodation, meals, etc.). Applications close 20 February 2020. More here

African Academy of Sciences — Intra-Africa Research Collaboration

The African Academy of Sciences (AAS) announces the second phase of the Developing Excellence in Leadership, Training and Science in Africa (DELTAS Africa) program. DELTAS Africa funds networks/consortia led by Africa-based scientists to foster intra-Africa collaboration, improving research environments and training researchers to conduct relevant, locally contextualized studies. Key research priorities include the multidisciplinary nexus of human health in connection with climate change, among others. Climate Tracker — Multimedia Stories on Air Pollution

Climate Tracker seeks emerging journalists from South Asia who tell stories about the air pollution crisis. Journalists are expected to produce multimedia stories that show how air pollution is impacting their communities. The World Academy of Sciences — Workshop on Coffee Research

The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) seeks young scientists from developing countries engaged in coffee research to participate in the workshop “Addressing Key Challenges on Coffee Research” (Italy, April 2020). The event will address key challenges in coffee research, growth and production and provide opportunities to build links and collaborations between researchers and coffee experts.
