Morris Animal Foundation — Amphibian Conservation

The Morris Animal Foundation funds conservationists interested in applying genetic insight to the protection and management of amphibian wildlife. The purpose of the “Wild Genomes” program is to provide the genetic/genomic information necessary to aid conservation efforts. Applications are due 19 August 2022. Details

Small Initiatives Program — Nature Conservation in Africa

The Small Initiatives Program (PPI) launches a call for project proposals for emerging African Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) working around major issues of nature conservation and/or the fight against climate change. The eligible themes are the conservation of biodiversity and the fight against climate change through nature-based solutions. The maximum contribution is €35 thousand. Enel Grids — Safeguarding Biodiversity from Electric Distribution Assets

Enel Grids seeks collaboration partners to provide an innovative approach that will safeguard biodiversity prior to the installation of electric distribution assets (overhead electrical lines and/or substations). Participants should propose innovative strategies that minimize the effect on biodiversity and promote its protection during the installation of electric infrastructure. European Commission — Sustainable Algae-based Solutions

The European Commission (EC) invites innovative and sustainable algae-based solutions and products for uses such as human consumption, animal feed, wastewater treatment, or applications for agriculture to the market. Projects require multi-stakeholder engagements with active participation from academia, organizations, citizens, civil society, start-ups, SMEs and other businesses. Applicants must be established in the Member States of the European Union or low- and middle-income countries. Applications have to be submitted by 27 September 2022. Details here

European Commission — Marine and Freshwater Pollution

The European Commission (EC) offers grants to prevent and minimize marine and freshwater pollution from chemical pollutants. Proposals should focus on demonstrating replicable solutions to prevent and minimize pollution in the Mediterranean Sea including its major river catchment areas. The maximum amount of financial support is €100 thousand per region. Applicants must be established in the Member States of the European Union or low- and middle-income countries. Government of India — ASEAN-India Research Training Fellowship

The ASEAN-India Research Training Fellowship (AI-RTF) aims to promote cooperation in science, technology and innovation through joint research activities in environmental management, climate change adaptation, agricultural technologies, alternative energy, biodiversity, biotechnology, and others. The Fellowship provides ASEAN young researchers with the opportunity to work at an Indian research/academic institution. The duration of the Fellowship will be for a period of 2-6 months. Fellows receive full financial assistance, including international travel, accommodation, meals, and a one-time grant of up to INR 40 thousand for research expenses. Government of India — Young Scientists Innovator Prize

The BRICS Young Scientist Forum seeks to strengthen existing bilateral and multilateral relations as well as cooperation among its member countries Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa. BRICS invites proposals from young scientists with projects in the thematic areas of biomedicine, low-carbon technology, artificial intelligence, renewable energy, and modern agriculture for the 7th BRICS-YSF Conclave in China. All participants will have the opportunity to attend the activities of the Science Communication Program. The program is open to scientists, engineers, technologists, innovators, science journalists, science professionals and researchers. Candidates to the BRICS Young Innovator Prize must be under the age of 30. Please note that candidates working in a private company are not eligible. Projects must be submitted until 10 July 2022. Climate Action Champions Network — Young Climate Leaders

The Climate Action Champions Network seeks young climate leaders from India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bhutan. The objective of the program is to inspire the South Asian young leaders to champion an ambitious climate action agenda in their respective countries and in the wider Indo-Pacific region. Prospective climate champions between the ages of 18 and 35, who are passionate about climate action, are encouraged to apply. The deadline for submitting applications is 15 July 2022. Know more

United States Agency for International Development — Food Security in Liberia

The Food Security, Nutrition and Resilience (FSNR) activity aims to increase agriculture-led economic growth, through improved productivity to enhance food security and nutrition in Liberia. USAID seeks applications to implement the USAID/FSNR Activity. The five-year activity will be funded with a total estimated amount of approximately US$20 million. The activity will be implemented in Liberia and target smallholder and subsistence farmers, agricultural cooperatives, and women and youth groups. Eligibility for this call is not restricted. U.S. Mission to Zambia — Funding for Community Organizations

The Ambassador’s Special Self-Help (ASSH) Program is a grants program that seeks to improve community-based natural resource management. ASSH announces an open competition for organizations in Zambia to submit applications to carry out small, community-based activities. Funding aims at assisting community groups to develop lasting, self-sustaining projects with focus on promoting the conservation of natural resources and developing sustainable tourism, among others.
