EnergySpin — Growth Program for Energy Startups

EnergySpin is a ten-week-long accelerator program for startups seeking international growth. The accelerator offers startups the chance to present their use cases to its corporate partners, who are open for possible piloting, PoCs, and other forms of cooperation. EnergySpin and its partners are able to invest in the most promising companies taking part in the program up to €1 million. Wild Animal Initiative — Welfare of Juvenile Wild Animals

Wild Animal Initiative provides grants for research projects that help us understand and improve the lives of wild animals. Grant size varies from US$25 thousand to US$250 thousand. Currently, the Initiative solicits proposals for research on the welfare, ecology, and everyday experiences of juvenile wild animals. Relevant projects might include studies that extend captive animal welfare assessment techniques to juvenile wild animals, or those that demonstrate how ecological concepts can relate to wild animal health and wellbeing. Wild Animal Initiative prioritizes work on the most numerous wild animals, such as rodents, fish, and even invertebrates. This call is open to anyone. Pangea — Blue Economy Accelerator

The Blue Economy Accelerator focuses on Blue economy startups from Africa. The program is designed to support women and youth-owned, ocean-based enterprises to sustain business growth through facilitating access to financing, business support, and technology adoption. The program will secure investment from a pre-selected pool of investors focusing on early stage funding of up to US$500 thousand. The application window will close on 29 August 2021. Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund — Biodiversity Conservation in the Mediterranean Basin (wider Prespa-Ohrid area)

The Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund (CEPF) and the Prespa Ohrid Nature Trust (PONT) invite Letters of Inquiry (LOIs) for small grants (up to US$20 thousand) for projects that support the sustainable management of water catchments in the wider Prespa-Ohrid area (Albania and North Macedonia). Eligibility extends to non-governmental organizations, community groups, universities and private enterprises. The ecosystem profile technical summary is available in English and French. Atlantic Strategy Group — Atlantic Project Awards

The Atlantic Project Awards honor projects that showcase success stories and best practices for a more sustainable Atlantic ocean and Atlantic coastal communities. Projects may focus on blue economy, ocean literacy, marine renewable energy, ocean health and resilient coasts, as well as international Atlantic Ocean cooperation. Eligibility extends to professionals, entrepreneurs, organizations, research institutions, maritime clusters, associations and NGOs. Note that the Awards only showcase funded projects (in progress or completed). Project ideas are not eligible. International Fund for Agricultural Development — Remittances in Times of Crisis

The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) announces the third round of National Calls for Proposals (MOROCCO) 2021: supporting remittances in times of crisis in Africa. IFAD seeks to reduce poverty and promote development by leveraging both international and domestic remittances and migrant capital in rural areas of developing countries. Regional proposals can request grants from €150 thousand up to €500 thousand. The following types of institutions can apply: private sector entities, for-profit entities, or non-profit organizations. United States Agency for International Development — Soybean Value Chain Research Program

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) seeks applications for a five year cooperative agreement from qualified entities to implement the Feed the Future Innovation Lab for Soybean Value Chain Research program. The purpose of the Soybean Innovation Lab is to develop evidence-based technologies and practices across the soy market systems in Africa. USAID intends to provide $10 million in total USAID core funding over a five year period. Eligibility extends to institutions of higher education. Applications close 17 September 2021. Link

Grinnell College — Grinnell Prize 2022

Grinnell College invites nominations for the 2022 Grinnell Prize. The Grinnell Prize of US$50 thousand will be awarded to individuals who show creativity, commitment, and extraordinary accomplishment in effecting positive social change. Past nominations have spanned a diversity of social issues related to agriculture and hunger relief, conservation and environment, and many other thematic areas. Nominees may be nationals of any country who have earned a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) between 2006 and 2022. Nominees must be nominated by a third party.
