Tata Trusts — Social Alpha Agritech Challenge

The Social Alpha Agritech Challenge 2.0 seeks innovators and start-ups with science and technology-based solutions that have the potential to create an impact in the lives of smallholder farmers in India. The winners receive support in the areas of product development, testing, pilots, product validation, product management and market strategy. Additional funding will be decided on a case-to-case basis. The challenge is open to individuals, teams, social enterprises, nonprofits, and companies registered in India. Economic Research Forum — Mitigation and Adaptation to Impact of Climate Change in MENA Region

Economic Research Forum (ERF) supports climate research projects to address topics related to the impact of climate change in the MENA region. Possible research questions and areas of interest are outlined in the call for proposals. Proposals can be cross-country or focused on a single country. The maximum grant is US$8 thousand per project. Eligibility extends to experienced researchers. The deadline for the submission of proposals is 09 January 2021. Link

UNDP-GEF Small Grants Program — COVID-19 Support for Indigenous Peoples and Fishing Communities in Malaysia

The Global Support Initiative for Indigenous Peoples and Community provides support to Indigenous Peoples and Fishing Communities to strengthen long-term socio-ecological resilience. Funding is intended for grassroots actions and initiatives across various themes, including agroecology and agroforestry, income-generation activities and community-based ecotourism, and other activities related to Covid-19 recovery and resilience. Grants are a maximum of US$50 thousand per project for the duration of 18 months. Applications must be from qualified organizations, such as national and local civil society organizations (including community-based organizations, NGOs, and Indigenous Peoples organizations). Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund — Biodiversity Conservation in the Mountains of Central Asia (Turkmenistan)

The Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund (CEPF) invites applications for small grants to promote conservation of biodiversity in the Mountains of Central Asia. This call is open to NGOs, community groups, universities, civil society organizations in Turkmenistan. The maximum funding amount per project is US$20 thousand. Frankfurt School of Finance & Management — NDC Financing Fellowship Program

The Frankfurt School of Finance & Management and the African Research Impact Network offer a 12-month bilingual NDC Financing Fellowship Program (NDC – FFP) for policymakers and researchers from francophone Africa. Nationally determined contributions (NDCs) are intended reductions in greenhouse gas emissions and central to achieving the long-term goals of the Paris Agreement. Participants will learn about different ways to finance climate commitments and exchange with policy experts and researchers working in the field of NDC finance. International Climate Initiative — Climate Innovation Leadership Program

EIT Climate-KIC seeks university partners to deliver the Climate Innovation Leadership Program in 2021. The Climate Innovation Leadership Program (CIL) empowers university students to become effective agents of change. CIL will equip participants with knowledge on climate change challenges. Participants will gain the ability to combine climate insights with new entrepreneurial and systems innovation skills to deliver an action and implement projects to combat climate change. Elrha — Adoption Challenge WASH Innovations

Elrha seeks local organizations interested in adopting innovations from their WASH Innovation catalogue into their programs. Funding of up to £150 thousand will be made available to cover the adoption costs. Eligibility extends to civil society organizations and NGOs who are a registered entity in the country of implementation. There are no geographical restrictions but innovations have to be implemented in humanitarian settings. Interested organizations have to apply by 25 January 2021. Link

SADC Secretariat — Climate Change Policy

The Southern African Development Community (SADC) Secretariat accepts applications in support of evidence-based and results-oriented policy dialogues. Applicants are invited to submit research proposals that strengthen evidence-based result-oriented discussions about climate change and other subjects of interest. Selected projects will receive funding of between US$60 thousand and US$80 thousand each. Eligibility is restricted to non-profit organizations. BIOPAMA — Small Technical Grants for Assessment of Conservation Areas

Biodiversity and Protected Areas Management (BIOPAMA) makes small grants for the technical assessment of protected conservation areas. Small Technical Grants for Assessment (STGA) aim to identify result-oriented priority actions for improved protected and conserved areas management and governance. The maximum amount is €20 thousand per assessment. Assessments must take place in priority areas such as key landscapes for conservation, key biodiversity areas, marine managed areas or other protected and conserved areas in Africa, the Caribbean and the Asia-Pacific region.  Eligibility extends to non-profit organizations, government agencies, and small or medium enterprises. Nordic Council of Ministers — Arctic Cooperation Program

The Arctic Cooperation Program aims to create sustainable and constructive development in the Arctic. The Nordic Council of Ministers will financially contribute to several sustainable development projects in the Arctic region. As a general rule, three Nordic countries must be involved in a co-operation project. A partnership can be supplemented with one or more other Arctic states (USA, Canada and Russia), but the lead applicant has to be from a Nordic country. A maximum of DKK500 thousand per year can be applied for. The application deadline is set for 01 February 2021. More information
