United Nations — Agri-Food Value Chains for Mountain Communities

The Mountain Innovation Program aims to improve the lives of mountain communities and protecting mountain environments around the world. The current opportunity calls for projects that focus on techniques to leverage resources and increase the resilience of mountain communities through the enhancement of agriculture-food value in Guatemala, Rwanda, Papua New Guinea, Lesotho, and Nepal. Only entities working with local civil society organizations and/or community-based organizations in priority countries are eligible to apply. The maximum grant funding per projects is US$140 thousand. The deadline is 05 April 2020. Link 

Mekong Institute – Mekong Cooperation Fund

The Mekong-ROK Cooperation Fund seeks applications for the implementation of cooperation activities in Mekong countries (Cambodia, Thailand, Myanmar, Vietnam, and Laos). The Fund provides grants of up to US$300 thousand for regional projects. Eligible project areas include agriculture and rural development, and environment, among others. Applications are invited from government agencies, non-governmental organizations, and academic institutions. Development banks and individuals are not eligible. Dutch Research Council — Scientific Research Collaboration Climate Smart Agriculture

NWO (Netherlands) and the Department of Biotechnology (India) call for scientific collaboration between The Netherlands and India that focus on Climate Smart Agriculture. Research institutes and other collaborations of organizations (both public and private) can apply for funding of joint research projects. Projects should focus on interdisciplinary research in order to develop application-oriented solutions for adaptation of agriculture to climate change. Projects can have a maximum duration of five years. The maximum funding amount is €700 thousand from NWO and Rs. 5.5 Crores from DBT. The application deadline is 07 April 2020. Find the call

International RiverFoundation — Australasia RiverPrize

The Australasia Riverprize invites applications from any organization or partnership who has achieved remarkable outcomes for rivers, river basins and their communities. The winner will receive the cash prize and trophy. Organizations, or groups of organizations, responsible for their river and involved in river management, restoration and/or protection can enter the competition. Polish Aid — Polish Challenge Fund

The Polish Challenge Fund (PCF) aims to facilitate the transfer of Polish know-how, technology, and innovative solutions in the area of green technologies to priority partner countries (Ukraine and Belarus). Funds of US$ 40 thousand will be allocated to Polish entities (companies as well as science and research institutes). Grant recipients are expected to ensure financial or in-kind contribution at 20% of the project value. Applications have to be submitted by 16 April 2020. More information here

Nagao Natural Environment Foundation — Scientific Publication Program

The NEF Publication Program supports scientific publications to expand knowledge of nature conservation in developing countries in the Asia-Pacific region. The program supports: printing cost including design and layout; and distribution cost inside the applicant’s country. The maximum grant size is ¥1 million per project for a maximum duration of one year. Applicants must be nationals of developing country in the Asia-Pacific region and be a full-time researcher/scientist working at a research institution. Environmental Law Institute — International Fellowship Program

The Environmental Law Institute invites applications for the Jim Rubin International Fellowship. The Fellowship Program is aimed at early-career environmental lawyers. It provides mentorship and financial aid to fellows so they can conduct legal research, analysis, writing, and editing on a focused project. Preference will be given to candidates from developing countries that have a legal degree (LL.B, JD, SJD, or LLM equivalent). The application deadline is 17 April 2020. Details

United Nations Capital Development Fund — Renewable Energy Fund Burkina Faso

The UNCDF “Fond des Energies Renouvelables pour la Résilience du Burkina Faso” (FERR-BF) supports projects that accelerate the growth of income-generating activities by adopting renewable energy solutions. Grants will range from US$50 thousand to US$200 thousand. Eligibility extends to companies registered in Burkina Faso. The deadline for expressions of interest is 17 April 2020. Find out more

British Embassy Chisinau — Climate Change Solutions

The British Embassy Chisinau seeks applications from organizations working on climate change and environmental issues in Moldova. This call for proposals seeks applications for projects related to renewable energy; green finance; nature-based solutions to mitigate climate change and biodiversity loss, restoration of natural habitats and ecosystems; and adaptation and resilience. Project proposals in the value range up to £20 thousand are welcome. Funding may be awarded to consortia of local and/or international organizations. One Young World — Entrepreneur of the Year Award

The One Young World Summit seeks startups and entrepreneurs with solutions to the world’s most pressing issues, including climate change and the challenges of globalization. Applicants can be of any nationality but must be between 18-35 years old. Five winners will receive a fully funded trip to participate in the One Young World Summit in Munich (Germany) in October 2020.
