Save Our Seas Foundation — Small Grants 2025

Save Our Seas makes grants for marine research, conservation, and education worldwide. Only projects concerned with marine chondrichthyan species (sharks, rays, skates, sawfishes, and chimaeras) will be considered. Small grants (average about US$5 thousand) are made to early-career scientists for projects of up to 12-18 months. The application deadline is 28 June 2025. SOSF Small Grants

Forrest Research Foundation — Research Fellowship

The Forrest Research Foundation at the University of Western Australia offers research fellowships to attract early-career post-doctoral researchers. The fellowship comprises a salary, an accommodation allowance, and a one-off research and travel allowance. The duration of the Fellowship is up to three years on a full-time basis. Prince Albert II Foundation — Call for Projects 2025

The Prince Albert II Foundation is dedicated to the protection of the environment and the promotion of sustainable development on a global scale. Currently, the Foundation calls for projects in 4 thematic areas: forest conservation through local and indigenous action; strengthening arctic and antarctic marine protected areas; coastal and marine solutions; and other projects that relate to climate change, biodiversity, or water preservation. North American Association for Environmental Education — STEM Education

The North American Association for Environmental Education offers a grant opportunity in E-STEM education to solve environmental issues. The Pratt & Whitney E-STEM Awards support new and existing programs that engage students in meaningful STEM learning experiences through environmental problem-solving. The E-STEM Innovation Grants provide funding of up to US$15 thousand for new or enhanced programs, and the Global E-STEM Excellence Prize awards up to US$50 thousand to nonprofit organizations. The opportunities are open to nonprofit organizations around the world that engage students (ages 11-18) in E-STEM programming. Applications are due on 02 July 2025. E-STEM Education

UK Royal Society — International Collaboration Awards

The International Collaboration Awards provide funding to enable research leaders in the UK to develop research collaborations with international partners. The grants are open to newly independent researchers ready to lead an international research program. Applications can apply to the Royal Society for up to £225 thousand over three years. World Photography Organization — Sony World Photography Awards

The Sony World Photography Awards, one of the world’s leading photography competitions, recognizes the best single images from across 10 diverse categories, including ‘Landscape’ and ‘Natural World & Wildlife’. The overall winner in the Open Competition will receive US$5 thousand plus photography equipment. The closing date for entries is 06 January 2026. Know more

Rainforest Action Network — Climate Action Fund

The Climate Action Fund makes small grants to community groups that are active in preventing the extraction of fossil fuels, and in preventing or decommissioning large point sources of greenhouse gas emissions. Grants can be made in all regions, but the Fund’s geographic priority areas are South and North America. Grants generally do not exceed US$2,500. Applications can be submitted at any time. Zoological Society of London — Rapid Feasibility Awards

The EDGE Protected and Conserved Area Fund provides grants to local Civil Society Organizations that are focused on creating or expanding protected and conserved areas for EDGE species. The Rapid Feasibility Awards encourage conservationists and researchers to evaluate important potential sites for creating new Protected Areas. Awards average US$5 thousand to US$10 thousand. YMCA Network Solutions — Youth Empowerment Fund

The YMCA Network Solutions Youth Empowerment Fund is a grant opportunity designed to support youth-led initiatives that address local challenges and advance the Sustainable Development Goals. The grant is open to YMCA National Movements and their local associations in countries eligible. Grants of €10 thousand to €20 thousand are available for national projects, and up to €30 thousand for multi-country collaborations involving at least three countries. World Food Forum — Startup Innovation Awards

The World Food Forum Startup Innovation Awards is a global startup competition to support and showcase innovators and entrepreneurs who harness technology to drive the sustainable transformation of agrifood systems to end global hunger. The World Food Forum seeks applications for the 2025 Extreme Tech Challenge. The competition is open to companies whose work impacts an element of agrifood systems: production, aggregation, processing, distribution, consumption, and disposal of food products.
