The Strategic Support Program for Scientific Research (PASRES) of Côte d’Ivoire and the Uganda Council for Science and Technology (UNCST) launch a call for joint research projects in the fields of Agriculture and Health. Proposals for scientific research should focus on agriculture and plant health (crop diseases, livestock and fisheries) or Environment and Human Health (resilience of populations to the effects of climate change). Projects will receive US$50 thousand in funding for one year. To be eligible, research partnerships must involve researchers from both countries (one from Côte d’Ivoire and the other from Uganda). IHE Delft announces a call for “Research for Development Proposals led by Institutes from Developing Countries”. The purpose of this call is to encourage collaboration between researchers from developing countries and to stimulate problem-orientated research to support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) related to water and development. Oriental Bird Club — Bird Conservation in Asia
The OBC Conservation Fund makes grants for bird conservation in Asia. Grant-making priorities are projects that benefit globally threatened bird species; that conserve threatened bird habitats; and that are led by Asian residents. Small Conservation Awards are up to £1,500 for projects of 12-18 months, with applications before 31 March of each year. World Bank and RUFORUM — Strengthening Higher Agricultural Education in Africa
The World Bank and the Regional Universities Forum for Capacity Building in Agriculture (RUFORUM) jointly launch a Call for Proposals for a regional project for Strengthening Higher Agricultural Education for Agri-food Systems Transformation in Africa (SHAEA). The Project will support the governments of participating African countries to collectively build capacity and knowledge in selected key areas. Universities from Kenya, Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Malawi, Mozambique are eligible to apply if they meet the criteria detailed in the call for proposals. The Wellcome Trust seeks applications from researchers who want to explore the links between human health and the changing climate. Specific research themes are (1) Developing tools to support research into climate change and health; (2) Assessing the health co-benefits of actions to mitigate climate change; and (3) Assessing the health impacts of actions to adapt to climate change. Funding of up to £500 thousand is available for three years of research. The awards are open to individuals or teams of up to ten members from anywhere in the world.
