The Mekong-ROK Cooperation Fund seeks applications for the implementation of cooperation activities in Mekong countries (Cambodia, Thailand, Myanmar, Vietnam, and Laos). The Fund provides grants of up to US$300 thousand for regional projects. Eligible project areas include agriculture and rural development, and environment, among others. Applications are invited from government agencies, non-governmental organizations, and academic institutions. Development banks and individuals are not eligible. Dutch Research Council — Scientific Research Collaboration Climate Smart Agriculture
NWO (Netherlands) and the Department of Biotechnology (India) call for scientific collaboration between The Netherlands and India that focus on Climate Smart Agriculture. Research institutes and other collaborations of organizations (both public and private) can apply for funding of joint research projects. Projects should focus on interdisciplinary research in order to develop application-oriented solutions for adaptation of agriculture to climate change. Polish Aid — Polish Challenge Fund
The Polish Challenge Fund (PCF) aims to facilitate the transfer of Polish know-how, technology, and innovative solutions in the area of green technologies to priority partner countries (Ukraine and Belarus). Funds of US$ 40 thousand will be allocated to Polish entities (companies as well as science and research institutes). Nagao Natural Environment Foundation — Scientific Publication Program
The NEF Publication Program supports scientific publications to expand knowledge of nature conservation in developing countries in the Asia-Pacific region. The program supports: printing cost including design and layout; and distribution cost inside the applicant’s country. The maximum grant size is ¥1 million per project for a maximum duration of one year. Applicants must be nationals of developing country in the Asia-Pacific region and be a full-time researcher/scientist working at a research institution. U.S. Mission to Indonesia — Combating Environmental Crime
The U.S. Mission to Indonesia provides financial assistance to build the capacity of law enforcement, government institutions, and local civil society organizations to prevent and report on environmental crimes in Indonesia. Capacity-building activities could include but are not limited to financial analysis ; conducting workshops, hosting conferences, or facilitating study tours. Individual awards are not to exceed US$225 thousand. Eligibility extends to U.S. based and overseas-based non-profit organizations (NGOs) or educational institutions. Please note that this is a two-step application process. Applicants must first submit a short concept note. Selected applicants will then be invited to submit full proposal. The governments of India and South Korea invite joint research proposals under the India-South Korea Scientific and Technological Cooperation Program. Scientists and researchers are invited to submit proposals for joint research projects in the following areas: Green Mobility, Engineering Sciences, Materials Science & Technology, and Renewable Energy. The program is open to researchers, scientists, institutions located in India or the Republic of Korea. The duration of each project should be three years. The Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) is a professional development exchange for community leaders from ASEAN countries in the fields of civic engagement, NGO management, economic empowerment, governance, legislative process, and environmental and natural resources management. The Program will bring at least 200 emerging leaders, ages 25-35, from Southeast Asia to the United States to participate in leadership and professional development activities. U.S. Department of State — Combating Wildlife Trafficking (Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines)
The U.S. Department of State aims to reduce the poaching and illegal trade of wildlife between Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines. The program will provide funding of up to US$1.6 million and include technical assistance to: 1) increase interdiction of trafficked wildlife; 2) build investigative and enforcement functions; and 3) develop cross-border regional cooperation. European Commission — Intra-Africa Academic Mobility Scheme
The Intra-Africa Academic Mobility Scheme is a joint program coordinated by the EC with the African Union Commission to increase the availability of qualified high-level professionals in Africa. The program enables post-graduate students, academics, and university staff to benefit from the experience gained in the context of mobility to another African country. Applications are invited from African higher education institutions, working in coordination with one EU technical partner. TRANSFORM — Sanitation for Underserved Urban Areas
TRANSFORM offers support to water utilities in Sub-Saharan Africa with innovative ideas and WASH solutions that meet the sanitation needs of underserved consumers in urban areas. Two successful projects will receive up to £250 thousand in funding, in addition to in-kind support over a 12-18 month period. Joint applications from NGOs, academics, consultants, and funders based in Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Nigeria, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe are encouraged.
