Partnership for Observation of the Global Ocean — Shipboard Fellowship 2026
The Partnership for Observation of the Global Ocean (POGO) offers several shipboard fellowship opportunities. This fellowship program aims to promote training and capacity building leading towards a global observation scheme for the oceans. Eligibility extends to early career scientists, technicians, PhD and MSc students, and Post-doctoral Fellows involved in oceanographic work at centers in developing countries and countries with economies in transition. United Nations — Indigenous Fellowship Program
The Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) Indigenous Fellowship Training Programme is open for applications. The aim of the program is to give Indigenous persons the opportunity to gain knowledge on the UN system and mechanisms dealing with human rights issues in general and Indigenous issues in particular. (Note: This may include land rights and biodiversity conservation issues). Participants will learn how to more effectively advocate for the rights of their communities and raise their concerns at the international level. World Oceans Day — Become a Young Ocean Leader
The World Oceans Day Youth Advisory Council needs 15 new young ocean leaders from around the world. The Council works closely with The Ocean Project and its global partner network to help shape the development of World Oceans Day. Members will develop projects and help to shape World Oceans Day. RECOFTC is accepting applications for Community Forestry 101, a self-paced online course that introduces the principles, practices, and benefits of community forestry. The course is designed for students, early-career professionals, government officials, NGO staff, researchers, and community practitioners interested in sustainable forest management and local governance. Participants gain foundational knowledge through interactive learning modules and receive a certificate upon successful completion. The course is free of charge and is open to participants worldwide. SDG Academy — Online Course: Natural Resources for Sustainable Development
SDG Academy, in partnership with edX, offers an online course on natural resources for sustainable development. In this 12-week course, participants will learn about efforts to sustainably manage extractive industry investments. Applicants who are sustainable development practitioners, such as those who work in corporate sustainability and responsibility or renewable energy, graduate students and climate change activists or are particularly encouraged to participate. Institute for Global Environmental Strategies — Satoyama Development Mechanism 2026
The IGES, the United Nations University Institute for Advanced Studies on Sustainability, and Japan’s Ministry of the Environment announce the latest round of sub-grants under the Satoyama Development Mechanism. The International Partnership for the Satoyama Initiative (IPSI) promotes the sustainable use of Socio-Ecological Production Landscapes and Seascapes. Grants are up to US$20 thousand for field projects; research; collaboration activities; and capacity building and outreach that link ecosystems and community systems on a sustainable basis. British Council — Transnational Education Grants with India
The British Council invites applications for Transnational Education Grants with India to support UK and Indian higher education institutions, together with industry partners, to develop and launch transnational education courses and degree programmes in emerging disciplines. Priority areas include AI and machine learning, quantum computing, genomics and proteomics, sustainable energy and climate change technology, synthetic biology, neurotechnology, circular economy research, advanced engineering, robotics, space technologies, semiconductor technologies, critical minerals, and earth sciences. Eligible partnerships must include at least one UK higher education institution, one Indian higher education institution, and an industry partner from the UK or India. Nippon Foundation — Ocean Fellowship
The United Nations–Nippon Foundation Fellowship provides government officials and other mid-level professionals from developing states with advanced training on ocean affairs and the law of the sea. The 9-month fellowship program is composed of two consecutive phases which provide fellows with advanced and customized research and training opportunities. Fellows will receive a stipend each month during their fellowship. The stipend is intended to cover the cost of lodging, boarding, and other essentials such as local transport. In addition to the stipend, fellows will be provided with a book allowance of US$100 per month. Candidates must be between the ages of 25 and 40. Miller Center for Social Entrepreneurship — Training for Social Entrepreneurs
The Miller Center for Social Entrepreneurship accepts applications for an accelerator program focused on social enterprises working on women’s economic power and/or climate resilience. The program is designed for established social entrepreneurs who directly serve people living in poverty who suffer disproportionately from climate change. Climate resilience falls into one of the following three categories: sustainable energy, availability of sustainable management of water and sanitation, and climate-smart agriculture. Non-profit, for-profit, or hybrid social enterprises that have a clear commitment to an earned revenue model with the potential for scale are all encouraged to apply.
