Indo-US Science and Technology Forum — Fellowship for Women in STEMM

The IUSSTF invites Indian women to apply for the Indo-U.S. Fellowship for Women in STEMM (WISTEMM)” (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and Medicine) program at reputed scientific/technological institutions in the USA. Project research areas include agricultural sciences, among many others. The program includes health insurance, airfare, and a monthly stipend of US$2,500. Eligibility extends to Indian women currently pursuing Ph.D. degree in Basic Sciences, Engineering or Technology on a full-time basis at any recognized academic institution/R&D institute/university in India. Earth Journalism Network — Fellowship to attend the UN Convention to Combat Desertification COP 14

The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) invites journalists from Africa and India to apply for a fellowship program to attend and cover the 14th Conference of the Parties (COP 14) to the UN Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) in New Delhi (September 2019). The Spindle — NOW-Us! Award for Africa and Asia

The NOW-Us! (NOthing about us, Without Us) Award honors inspiring inclusive initiatives from Africa and Asia that trigger empowerment of otherwise excluded groups. This includes social enterprises led by women, indigenous groups and ethnic minorities with initiatives that improve access to productive resources (land and water), among others. The three winners (1, 2 and 3) get a grant of respectively €25 thousand, €15 thousand and €10 thousand along with coaching and networking opportunities. Nordic Climate Facility — Testing the Business Viability of Climate Solutions

The Nordic Climate Facility accepts applications for the current call for proposals on the theme of “Testing the Business Viability of Climate Solutions”. Projects should be implemented through partnerships between relevant Nordic institutions and qualified local partners in eligible low-income countries in Sub-Saharan Africa, South Asia, and Latin America (full list in the announcement). U.S. Embassy Vientiane — YSEALI Regional Workshop: Agri-Biz Incubator

The U.S. Embassy Vientiane invites applications from organizations to carry out a five-day workshop in Laos on on agriculture-related entrepreneurship (agri-biz) for the Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI). The workshop will focus on building theoretical and practical knowledge about responsible, sustainable and environmentally sound agri-biz initiatives in Southeast Asia. European Commission — Supporting Small-Scale Fisheries in Africa and the Indian Ocean

The European Commission seeks to support environmental sustainable of small-scale inland and marine fisheries in Eastern Africa, Southern Africa and the Indian Ocean region. The objective of this call is to secure more sustainable fisheries management and contribute to marine biodiversity and climate resilience. Any grant requested under this call for proposals must fall between €500 thousand and €1 million. Eligibility extends to a wide variety of organisations, including non-profit, social enterprise, businesses, local governments, or international organizations. IC-IMPACTS — Smart Cities

IC-IMPACTS and the Department of Science & Technology (DST) of the Government of India invite proposals for the Cyber-Physical Systems to Support Green Buildings in Smart Cities. Projects under this call should aim at developing sensors, cyber-physical interfaces and solutions for energy reduction, net zero energy, carbon neutrality, reduced water usage, water harvesting, and on-site treatment, as well as to instigate other benefits for smarter and more sustainable buildings. Forest and Farm Facility — Call for Proposals 2019

The Forest and Farm Facility together with the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED), the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and AgriCord launched the call for proposals to support regional and global forest and farm producer organizations to enable climate resilient landscapes and improved livelihoods. There will be one grant for a regional organization based in Africa, one in Asia and one in Latin America. Australian Center for International Agricultural Research — John Dillon Fellowships

ACIAR awards the John Dillon Fellowships to agricultural scientists or economists from our partner countries and Australia. The fellowships aim to support the professional development of outstanding mid-career agricultural scientists, economists and researchers. Key features of the program are: a 4-6 week residential stay in Australia, a 1-week hosting period with an Australian organisation, formal training, program of visits to engage with various Australian institutions, and exposure to relevant researchers, industry experts and professionals.
