The governments of India and South Korea invite joint research proposals under the India-South Korea Scientific and Technological Cooperation Program. Scientists and researchers are invited to submit proposals for joint research projects in the following areas: Green Mobility, Engineering Sciences, Materials Science & Technology, and Renewable Energy. The program is open to researchers, scientists, institutions located in India or the Republic of Korea. The duration of each project should be three years. European Commission — Intra-Africa Academic Mobility Scheme
The Intra-Africa Academic Mobility Scheme is a joint program coordinated by the EC with the African Union Commission to increase the availability of qualified high-level professionals in Africa. The program enables post-graduate students, academics, and university staff to benefit from the experience gained in the context of mobility to another African country. Applications are invited from African higher education institutions, working in coordination with one EU technical partner. Merlin Trust — Study Travel Grant for Horticulturists
The Merlin Trust offers travel grants to young horticulturists. The Trust offers up to £1500 to individual applicants to assist with foreign or domestic travel projects. Foreign citizens may apply but must be studying in a British or Irish horticultural training establishment. Eligibility extends to young horticulturists aged between 18 and 34. Academy of Medical Sciences — Global Challenges Research Fund
The Global Challenges Research Fund invites applications to grow research capability in the UK to meet the challenges faced by developing countries. Examples of thematic areas include sustainable agriculture; clean air, water, and sanitation; renewable energy and materials; addressing environmental shocks and long-term environmental changes; and others. Grantseekers may request up to £25 thousand in project support. Both UK and international research organisations (universities, public laboratories, or nonprofit organisations) can be research partners and receive funds. EuroMarine — EMBRC Services for Early-Career Researchers
The European Marine Biological Research Centre (EMBRC) offers grants for services to 10 EuroMarine early-career scientists (PhD students or researchers within 5 years of their PhD degree). Applicants must belong to an organization that is a member of EuroMarine. Each successful applicant will receive a grant of €5 thousand to cover the cost of EMBRC services. Newton Fund — Newton Prize for Excellence in Research and Innovation
The Newton Prize recognizes the best research or innovation projects that promote economic development and social welfare. In 2020, the Prize celebrates the impacts made as a result of international collaborations in Newton partner countries (Egypt, Kenya, Jordan, Turkey, and South Africa). The BBSRC and FAPESP announce a joint call for collaborative research proposals to encourage and support international research teams in Brazil and the UK. Climate Food and Farming Research Network — PhD Research on Climate Change Mitigation in Smallholder Agriculture
CLIFF-GRADS is a joint initiative of the CGIAR Research Program on Climate Change (CCAFS) low emissions agriculture flagship and the Global Research Alliance on Agricultural Greenhouse Gases (GRA). The program aims to build the capability of early career agricultural students in developing countries to conduct applied research on climate change mitigation in agriculture. CLIFF invites applications from PhD students from developing countries for short-term (4-6 month) scientific training and research stays at CGIAR research centers or affiliated research institutions. The focus of the research is greenhouse gas emissions and carbon sequestration associated with climate change mitigation in agriculture in developing countries. Grants are up to US$12 thousand. PEER invites applications from African graduate students and their mentors interested in building their capacity for research on land and resource governance.
