Sight and Life — Climate-Smart Nutrition

Sight and Life invites ideas from students, young professionals and entrepreneurs to provide a planet-friendly disruptive solution to combat malnutrition. Nutritional, climate-friendly and environmental-friendly innovative solutions from a diverse category of products, technologies and services are welcome. An Elevator Pitch Contest will be held at the Micronutrient Forum Global Conference (March 2020). Seven selected finalists will win a round trip and accommodation to Bangkok to present their idea. European Marine Board — Young Ambassador Programme

The European Marine Board (EMB) seeks creative young ambassadors that are willing to play a role in advocating for EMB and promoting the role and relevance of marine science. EMB ambassadors will participate in various activities, including EMB Plenary meetings and external events or workshops. The Ambassador will receive a total grant of €2 thousand and a travel grant up to a total amount of €3 for meeting and events. Ambassadors should commit up to 120 hours per year for a period of 2 years. Any PhD or postdoc student with experience in marine-based research is welcome to apply. The KEEN Effect — Nature-based Education

The KEEN Effect seeks programs that bring children outside for adventurous recreation, environmental stewardship, and nature-based education. The KEEN Effect Youth program provides funding to grassroots organizations developing youth (age 18 or under) activities in the outdoors worldwide. The program grants up to US$20 thousand per project over a two-year cycle. Eligibility extends to registered non-profit organizations. Applications must be submitted by 31 January 2020. WWF-India — Climate Solver Awards

Climate Solver is a climate innovations platform developed by WWF to strengthen the development and widespread use of low carbon technologies. WWF-India invites submissions from small and medium enterprises that offer technologies that significantly lowers carbon emissions or provide sustainable solutions to enhance energy access. Renewable Energy Performance Platform — Women-Owned Renewable Energy Projects in Africa

With funding from the UK-Government, the Renewable Energy Performance Platform (REPP) invites application for gender-themed request for proposals targeting women-led renewable energy projects in Africa. Successful applicants will have access to financing services, technical assistance, capacity building and access to risk mitigation instruments. Young Sustainable Impact Southeast Asia — Innovation Program 2020

Young Sustainable Impact (YSI) Southeast Asia invites applications for a fully funded Incubation Program which will provide participants with the frameworks, mentorship and resources to start a company. Teams or individually are invited to create lasting solutions to Southeast Asia’s pressing problems in the themes of “Energy Transitions”, “Future of Food & Agriculture”, and “Circular Economy.” Candidates have to be 18-35 years old. Participants receive a fully funded trip to Singapore to participate in a 9-day workshop. Up to US$5 thousand funding is available to promising startups. PNG-Australia Partnership — Off-Grid Electrification Program Papua New Guinea

The PNG-Australia Off-Grid Electrification Program (Pawarim Komuniti) supports access to clean energy in rural and remote communities in Papua New Guinea. The Program will support local off-grid energy solutions such as solar home systems, and others, to provide rural households, community service facilities and businesses with affordable access to clean energy. Selected organisations will receive funding in the amount of between PGK250 thousand and PGK3 million. Pawarim Komuniti will accept proposals from legally registered national or international private companies and NGOs eligible to work in Papua New Guinea. UNESCO World Heritage Centre — World Heritage Volunteers Youth Campaign

The UNESCO World Heritage Centre announces the Call for Projects for the World Heritage Volunteers (WHV) Campaign 2020. The WHV encourages young people to undertake concrete actions and to play an active role in the protection, preservation and promotion of World Heritage sites. Legally registered public or private organisations and institutions are invited to submit a project proposal for practical, hands-on workshops with youth focus. Each organisation is eligible to apply for a maximum of 4 projects to be carried out at different World Heritage sites. Projects should have a minimum 10 day duration and involve as much international volunteers as possible. Applications have to be submitted by 19 January 2020. Link to instructions

Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund — Biodiversity Conservation in the Mediterranean Basin (Palestine)

The Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund (CEPF) invites Letters of Inquiry (LOIs) for small grants (up to US$20 thousand) for projects that support the conservation of plants that are critically endangered or have highly restricted ranges within Palestine. Nigeria Energy Forum — Africa Energy Innovation Competition 2020

NEF invites applications for the 5th Africa Energy Ideas Competition which aims to accelerate the development of early-stage energy firms across Africa. The competition is open to early-stage energy entrepreneurs from Africa to collaborate with local research institutions or industries. Young professionals between the ages of 18 and 35 years from Africa are invited to participate and nominate a relevant local research institution or organization. Winners will pitch their proposed prototype model at the 2020 Nigeria Energy Forum, in Lagos (Nigeria) and a cash prize of up to $5 thousand. The deadline for proposal submission is 30 January 2020.
