Unilever — Young Entrepreneurs Awards 2019
The Unilever Young Entrepreneurs Awards invite nominations of individuals ages 18 to 35 anywhere in the world who have initiatives, products, or services that address sustainability challenges in three categories. The categories are ‘improve people’s health and well-being’; ‘improve the health of the planet’; and ‘contribute to a fairer and more socially inclusive world’. Unilever will recognise up to eight winners in 2019, each of whom will be awarded a cash prize in addition to one-to-one mentoring support for a year. The overall winner will receive the “HRH The Prince of Wales Young Sustainability Entrepreneur Prize” of €50 thousand, the remaining winners will each receive a €8.5 thousand cash award. US Department of Agriculture — Conservation Innovation Grants
The US Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) announced the Conservation Innovation Grant (CIG) to stimulate the development and adoption of conservation approaches and technologies towards soil and grazing land health, and water quality. Eligibility extends to non-federal entities (NFE) and individuals for projects carried out in the Pacific Islands Area locations including the state of Hawaii, Guam, American Samoa and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands. Samsung Engineering jointly with UN Environment launches the 12th Eco-generation Environmental Essay Competition inviting the youth all over the world to raise awareness on the theme “Beat Air Pollution”. The competition aims to collect inspiring and creative ideas on why we should reduce air pollution with regards to its causes, effects, and consequences. The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), the specialised UN agency, funds journalists from around Africa to attend the workshop ‘Reporting Rural Poverty and Agricultural Development’. The programme aim is to enable journalists to tell the story of rural development. Participants will have the opportunity to attend the African Green Revolution Forum (AGRF) in Kigali in September 2019. Eligibility extends to full-time journalists from across Africa. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) offers grants to foreign citizens and Italian citizens living abroad for the academic year 2019-2020 in order to foster international cultural, scientific and technological cooperation. Grants are offered to pursue study, training, and/or research programs at Italian Higher Education Institutes. The Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting provides travel grants to cover hard costs associated with upcoming travel for an international reporting project. The Pulitzer Center seeks applications for data-driven journalism projects related to land rights and property rights.
