Netherlands Organization for International Cooperation in Higher Education — Nuffic Scholarships for Short Courses

Nuffic, a Dutch non-profit organization for internationalization in education, offers scholarships for training courses in The Netherlands. Subject areas include climate adaptation, water governance, and many others. The Nuffic Scholarships at The Hague Academy (OKP, MSP and StuNed) will cover the tuition fee, flights, insurance, accommodation and a small daily allowance. Potentially interested individuals review the courses and dates offered by the participating Dutch higher education institutions, and information about how to apply. Cargill — Cargill Global Scholars Program 2021

The agribusiness company Cargill offers scholarships to university students interested in food security, agriculture, and risk management. Applicants must be citizens or permanent residents of Brazil, China, India, Indonesia, Russia, or the USA — and attend university in those countries. Each Cargill Global Scholar receives an annual scholarship for up to two years, as well as opportunities for leadership training and networking. The application deadlines are 04 March 2021 for India; 04 March 2021 for applicants in the USA; 31 March 2021 for Russia; 27 April 2021 for China; 26 May 2021 for Brazil; and 04 June 2021 for Indonesia. Angels of Impact — Fellowship for Women Entrepreneurs

The ASEAN Women Impact Social Entrepreneurship (WISE) Fellowship supports changemakers and social enterprises with focus on women and indigenous communities. Angels of Impact seeks medium-sized, women or indigenous-led, community-based social enterprises that work to end poverty via the creative economy sector. Selected fellows have access to capacity-building workshops, market access and funding opportunities. Two businesses from each Southeast Asian country (Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam) will be selected for the fellowship. U.S. Department of Agriculture — International Agricultural Science and Technology Fellowship

The U.S. Department of Agriculture welcomes applications for the 2021 Norman E. Borlaug International Agricultural Science and Technology Fellowship Program. The program offers training and collaborative research opportunities to scientists, researchers, and policymakers from developing countries. Themes include soil and water management; agricultural genetics and breeding; livestock health and management; agricultural processing; biotechnology; climate change; biofuels; and others (varying by eligible countries). The award amount is US$60 thousand. Fellows work with a mentor at a U.S. university, research center, or government agency, usually for 8-12 weeks. Future Food — Postdoc Fellowships to Young Researchers

Future Food – A Swiss Research Initiative awards up to ten postdoc fellowships each year to further expand research and education in the area of food and nutrition sciences. The fellowship provides personal research funds for three years, enabling fellows to work on their projects in a Swiss research laboratory. The total funds per fellowship may not exceed CHF390 thousand. Applicants must hold a doctorate (PhD). There is no restriction on nationality. Frankfurt School of Finance & Management — NDC Financing Fellowship Program

The Frankfurt School of Finance & Management and the African Research Impact Network offer a 12-month bilingual NDC Financing Fellowship Program (NDC – FFP) for policymakers and researchers from francophone Africa. Nationally determined contributions (NDCs) are intended reductions in greenhouse gas emissions and central to achieving the long-term goals of the Paris Agreement. Participants will learn about different ways to finance climate commitments and exchange with policy experts and researchers working in the field of NDC finance. German Academic Exchange Service — Climate Research Fellowship

ClimapAfrica supports research on climate change and possible solutions. African PhD students are invited to submit postdoctoral climate research projects to one of the following research areas: Agriculture, Climate Science, Veterinary Medicine, Biodiversity, Food Security, Marine Science, Energy, Water Resources, and Forest Sustainability, among others. The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) awards fellowships of max. €10 thousand, plus a monthly allowance to cover research costs for a period of 12 to 18 months. Fellows can apply for additional funding to cover a temporary research stay in Germany (2-6 months) to work on a specific research question. The application deadline is 15 February 2021. German Academic Exchange Service — Doctoral Scholarships for Africans

The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) offers two doctoral scholarships at the Leibniz Centre for Tropical Marine Research (ZMT). The scholarships are related to the interdisciplinary research topic “Adaptation of marine socio-ecological systems to changing environments.” The scholarships will be granted for up to 4 years. Applicants need to originate from Sub-Saharan Africa and hold a university degree. The scholarship includes a monthly allowance of €1,200, plus additional travel and research allowances. African Women in Agricultural Research and Development — One Planet Fellowship

African Women in Agricultural Research and Development (AWARD) invites applications for the One Planet Fellowship. The Fellowship seeks to build a network of African and European scientist leaders to help Africa’s smallholder farmers adapt to climate change. Applicants from the following Sub-Saharan African countries are eligible to apply: Algeria, Benin, Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, Mali, Morocco, Nigeria, Senegal, Tanzania, Togo, and Zambia. Selected candidates will participate in intensive training workshops aimed at fostering leadership skills, strengthening scientific research skills including integrating gender into their research. Wallonie Bruxelles International (WBI) offers postdoctoral scholarships through the Excellence Scholarship Program.
